"Unimpressive mediocrity"

We stayed 4 nights, and we ran into several difficulties. First, the hotel would not award AARP nor AAA discounts; "they were already taken." Second, the charge for parking was extortion. Third, the water system was so bad that we had to change rooms. One could brew tea with the water from the shower, and neither the temp nor the flow was controllable. The second room was better, but there were still issues with water pressure. The location is <3 blocks from canal Street and the FQ and not a problem unless one has mobility issues. The rooms were noisy (street and hallways) and a bit shabby with aging carpeting and linens that were old and tired, if clean. And I really did not like the hotel charging my credit card for the full amount upon check-in. To their credit, though, the rooms were mostly clean and spacious, and many have refrigerators and microwave ovens. The hotel provided comp WiFi (this is an issue I harp on constantly). I'll not return; I would prefer to spend a bit more for a solid 4-star hotel with the amenities I prefer. I had really expected more for $300/night.

Conference Trip at Morial Convention Center This is a nice hotel. No fireworks going off and bands playing as you enter. It is a safe place to sleep. The front desk staff are fantastic. The hotel is clean with the exception of the need for a carpet cleaning in the room. The house keeping staff was great and did their job quickly. We could walk to Bourbon Street as well as the Conference Center. The breakfast was good for the first couple days and then your body says enough bread/waffles and cold cereal, find some bacon, sausage and eggs.

Stayed 3 nights for the Jazz fest. One of two elevators down for the entire time. DURING JAZZ FEST! Filthy from top to bottom. Sporadic shower pressure. Bad customer service. Called on day one for additional blanket and day bed. Said they would be right up. I called and hour later and was told they were out of blankets and day beds. Unhelpful desk staff and curt with responses. Paid $200/night for a $50/Night value hotel. Will never return to this La Quinta. Disclaimer: I have stayed at other LQ hotels and never had this level of problem.

"The Big Easy"

Our hotel in New Orleans was quite good. It is a very old building, but they have done an excellent job of updating and renovating it. There were a few very little things that could stand tweaking, but overall it was just fine. Breakfast left a bit to be desired, but the hotel was crowded, and we did not go to breakfast at the crack of dawn. There was no yogurt!

"Great place to stay"

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I would tell others to stay here. We were just a few blocks from anything we might have wanted to do. I recommend the hop on hop off tour it was worth the money. The staff are very helpful and friendly, Sara always had a smile on her face and greeted us coming in and going out.
