"Oversized Large La Quinta Hotel with Nice Court Yard"
Reviewed May 23, 2013
A La Quinta traveler |
This La Quinta is a very large hotel with a very nice court yard, gazebo and pool area with a shade area for relaxing. The rooms have been remodeled and are very nice with new fresh look all around. The 2 full size beds in our room are ok but I wish the rooms had queens for more space instead. At the time of our stay they were working on remodeling the lobby/ breakfast area. Staff indicated that remodeling would be over and complete by end of June if not earlier. The lobby/breakfast area is huge with vast windows and views looking in to courtyard. Staff serving breakfast were very kind and courteous even after breakfast hours were over to make sure all were happy and full. Check in and Check out was very professional and staff seem to really care about guest. Parking is very large for this property and well lighted at night. This hotel is located off Belt line Rd. where there is so many places to eat (more than 50 places to eat in less than a 2 mile radius of hotel) Hotel is quiet with no freeway noise to deal with, however we did hear small planes and a few jets that do fly over from time to time that land at nearby Addison Airport. The airplanes were NOT very frequent during our stay,...maybe 3 or 4 during the evening that I can recall. In the back of hotel there are train tracks just beyond the parking lot, however I don't believe those tracks are very active at all. I did not hear or see any trains at all during our 2 day stay. Overall, I would give hotel a solid 4 stars out of 5. Pluses are very nice grounds, large breakfast area, courtyard and pool, recent remodel and very friendly professional staff are all great about this property. The only minus is the full size beds (I prefer larger queens) and the occasional airplane landing. In my book, these minuses are very minor. I would still recommend this hotel. This La Quinta property is big and has 3 wings and covers a lot of area. In my view, I like this hotel layout much better than the standard new 4-6 story high rises that are so common with the new La Quinta hotels of late. Hope that helps. JDT
Althought this hotel is under going room renovations, the sleep was not interrupted by any noise or early morning construction. The hotel is close to some of the better restaurants in the Addison area and all within walking distance. The staff was friendly. The fountain in the atrium was under repair for a huge crack in the center. The pool and patio were clean. The service doors to go in and out are heavy and loud. Best value for location.
We stay here about 4 to 5 times a year traveling through Dallas. The location is good, rooms are comfortable/clean, staff is friendlay, price is reasonable, and they take our dog. The hotel is currently under renovation and will be for the next month. We will be back in the summer.
We had a group of guys playing in a local golf tournament. This makes the 3rd year we have chosen this hotel. The location is great. The staff is helpful, and the rates are reasonable. Twenty five of us checked in at once. That can be a bit overwhelming, and although some of our rooms were not ready yet, the staff was hustling and accommodating to get us checked in as quickly as possible. Lots of great dining close by (especially Nates Seafood). Give this place a try.
I would love to have given this more stars as the room was nice, clean, updated - nothing but good to say -- however, the power went off at 12:30am on our last night there- we had to get up early to catch a flight, but not that early - the power went off, causing the air handlers to make an awful noise, then it came back on in a few minutes - repeat several times -- finally we got up at 2:20am and got dressed and left -- -- I hope that was an isolated incident
