"Great pit stop"

We didn't arrive until late, and thankfully, we had no issues checking in. The clerk was friendly and very helpful. Once we got to our room, we found it nice and clean. (no funky smells) The room was nice and chilly (coming in from a hot drive, this was a huge PLUS!!! The beds were extremely comfortable. we had a hard time getting out.

"Caution, Third Floor"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 23, 2014
N. L | Salinas, California
My wife and I have come here for the last three years in a row to be with friends, and nearby relatives for a day or two. This year the third floor carpet was absolutely filthy, and smelled. I mean the whole wrap-around length of it. I told the desk gal. She gave an embarrassed smile. The first floor seemed clean and nice. The pool, lobby, breakfast, everything was seemingly up to par, except the halls (and elevator floor) on the third floor. And for whatever reason they put us up there? Didn't seem too crowded, but too tired to switch rooms. Once inside the room, it was fine.

"Agree with the other contributors - this hotel is not clean"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 20, 2014

Like other contributors, when traveling the I5 to Oregon, I just need "clean." The hallway leading to the rooms had significant stains - I should have turned around then. The room was not much better - the carpet needs to be replaced and the room needs a thorough cleaning. It probably didn't help that the room across the hall had a dog that didn't make it outside in time. The molding around the bathroom door was filthy. The staff was approachable and appeared trying to do a good job - they need a hotel willing to invest resources and training to maintain a clean environment.

"Great short stay!"

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, easy access to I-5 and a Cattleman's restaurant next door (and many others choices in the area) make this hotel a perfect stop-over spot when traveling through this area. I've stayed several times before and will stay again.

"Worst LaQuinta I've stayed at."
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 18, 2014
445joshuas | Eugene, Oregon
I only stay at LaQuinta when traveling since I have their rewards program, am a military veteran and get a discount thanks to it, and often have my dog with me. This is a list of issues with the LQ in Redding. Hopefully this was an anomaly. 1) On check in, I was asked to show my military ID. When I presented my VA ID card, the receptionist rolled her eyes at me and gave it back. The impression I was left with was that a veteran's ID card isn't really a military ID card. I was rushed through check in when no one was waiting behind me. 2) Room carpet had more stains than I could count with wet spots near the bathroom that were wet enough to saturate my socks as I walked through. 3) There was standing water in the bathtub with numerous long strands of hair in the middle of the tub, near the drain and along the rim of the tub. Towels and soap were placed as if the tub had been cleaned. 4) Mold on the shower curtain. 5) Broken and moldy shower head hose. Broken at the connector at the shower head itself. 6) Toilet had broken and rusted (urine encrusted) exposed bolts at both the toilet seat and below on the floor. 7) Fridge was turned off, warm and dirty upon arrival. I turned it on assuming it was turned off to conserve energy. Once cold, I placed items in it, but when I awoke in the morning the fridge was off, warm and my items had potentially spoiled resulting in me throwing them away. 8) There was inadequate seating in the breakfast area. I went out to the lobby to eat at the bar area (where business travelers can sit and plug in devices) only to find a german cockroach in the area where I was going to sit.
