"Mid-trip Stop"

When driving to Southern California from the Seattle area, we look forward to stopping at the LaQuinta in Redding for the night. The hotel is attractive, clean, welcoming staff, at an affordable cost! If I'm not mistaken, I believe they also allow pets. In addition, they are a few yards away from the busy and great restaurant next door, the "Cattleman's", to end the day with good food!
Found the property easy to locate off the interstate. Reservation was completed and was asked at the desk if I wanted to leave the reservation on my credit card. I said yes and a room key was promptly handed to me. Room was clean and cool. Plastic lightweight toilet seat was extremely loose when first used. Called front desk and the problem was corrected within 30 minutes. Very good service. Very good complementary breakfast. I would return to this location without any question.
This is a lovely oasis just off of the I5. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, takes pets no charge, and has a beautiful outdoor pool. Rooms are clean, and open onto the courtyard around the pool. There are plenty of pubs, and restaurants to chose from within walking distance. All in all, a nice stop on a very busy freeway.
Room was close to out side door but still inside room that was quite. best when traveling with pet. The staff was very helpful. This hotel is on my list to stay again.
Plenty of places to eat and a safeway close to the hotel for in room food.
After reading the reviews specially the bad ones I seriously had second opinions about staying here.
Going against better judgment we did stay and the bed was oh.... So comfy. The room we stayed in was a handicap room that was part of the evil reviews and it was very adaquet for our needs.
All the attendants were very kind and guest worthy of the positions for which they held.
The breakfast was very good.
And at last. The carpeting! The carpeting is the best type of carpeting for a well used hotel. It's usable, wearable, and one would think that it will get the best length of service.
So, pointing to a previous review, if you want a plush carpet, then go pay $275 per night and still that won't I'm sure satisfy all your needs.
Last, we just finished a road trip in which we stayed in 6 hotels. 5 of which were La Quinta's.
the only reason it wasn't 6 nights was because there were none where we stayed. Out of the five we had one totally understaffed hotel. So out of the five I'm going to offer up a **** rating.
Thanks La Quinta for being part of a great vacation.
