"old and dirty"

This has to the best the worst motel of any kind that we have ever stayed in. Old and very dirty!! It smelled bad, would not have breakfast there, the pool was green. I have pictures. Horrible. Can't believe this is even open. La Quinta needs to inspect this.
This turned into a nightmare for us! Beginning at check-in, they did not have our room ready. We were told to come back later! We went and ate next door, then came back and got our room. They were not very friendly at the desk, you could tell they just wanted to get us out. We went to our room and it was small, smelled and not overly clean. We flushed the toilet and water went everywhere! It would not stop, so we called the office. The very RUDE man who answered said very obnoxiously to turn the knob off! So we waded our way through the water that was not in on the carpet, got down and shut it off. We called them back and said we need another room and that they need to send someone up. We were told they would someone and the hotel was full and he hung up! The maintenance man came, looked at it, said he'd back and brought in a snake. It was a horrible mess. We called again about another room at which time this man said we had called three times in five minutes and maintenance would be there! Ugh! Finally, we called again and said we would be down in five minutes and to have keys ready to another room. We went direct to the office, no one was there, he then came out, handed us a key, and went in the back again. Said nothing! Oh, my goodness... was a very difficult experience!
Let's see, where do I start? The fact that the room they first gave me was dirty? That the halls smelled like unwashed bodies, dirt and disinfectant? That the hot water in the second room wouldn't work and the toilet wouldn't flush properly? I think all of the above reasons would cause me to never stay here again and to urge everyone else to do the same. To level set, I have a La Quinta credit card and have stayed in many LQ's to get points but definitely would NOT choose this one. Looks like the majority of other travelers feel the same so perhaps you should wake up and fix this one up, La Quinta. The only reason I gave them 2 stars was because of the employees who were terrific.
I used 40,000 points I have been saving up on this !!!
Not worth 12,000 a night. Location is questionable, nice easy on and off the freeway, but!!!
Old building, rooms grimmy, loud! Close to freeway, train station behind it, homeless. Pool is not the typical LaQuinta courtyard. I am soooo bummed I wasted all my points on this location. It's over priced and reward points tooooo high. I won't stay here again.
I spend $10,000 on hotels a year, this is no reward, I feel punished.
I stayed here in July with a couple friends to save money, and it was terrible. The rooms were overbooked (despite that I paid in advance) when we arrived so one of the employees had to rush to clean one of the rooms while we waited in the lobby for over an hour. The employees were helpful about that, and didn't charge us for the first night, but the hotel itself is very dingy and gross. Our room had several stains on the carpet, the wifi was really slow, we were only given one thin blanket for the bed with no sheets (with no extra blankets in the closet, and they didn't have any extras at the desk), the bathroom has no fan, and any clothes that I left out of my suitcase felt really damp and now smell like I left them in a dumpster full of cigarettes. Also, I noticed that the pool is the size of a hot tub, so don't bother staying here for the pool.
It's also worth noting that the Downtown Denver location is about two miles outside of Denver, located next to a freeway and the only place you can walk to easily is a pancake house. It's a $10 cab ride to get into the downtown area, which isn't too bad.
