"Love the bed!"
Reviewed May 5, 2013
A La Quinta traveler |
This is a newer hotel and is very nice and clean. But the thing that stood out the most for my husband and me was the bed. It was firm but not firm like a rock. It was perfect for us. We both remarked that we slept through the night which is rare for both of us on first night out of a trip.
I've stayed at this hotel twice, both times the room was clean and mostly comfortable, although the pillows had seen better days. A few desk staffers were really helpful, but others seemed indifferent and disorganized, pretty standard hotel experience.
Except the second time, I lost my necklace. I fully blame myself, it wasn't an expensive necklace but it had some sentimental value. I left it on the counter after a bleary-eyed room check before catching an early morning flight. Totally my bad.
Where I had an issue with La Quinta was when I tried to call the next morning to see if housekeeping turned it in for me. The clerk I talked to initially didn't seem to know whether or not anyone else had been staying in the room later that day, the head housekeeper who called me later sounded nearly as confused. They told me the necklace may have been turned into the manager, who would have locked it in the safe, but no one else had access and he wouldn't be in until Monday. They promised to leave a message for him to call me when he had time to check the safe. Fine, not much else to be done.
Monday came and went, no call. I called Tuesday morning and asked for the manager, who had heard nothing about any message or my situation at all, and seemed immediately to be looking for reasons I was wrong about every facet of what I told him.
He said he'd check the safe and have housekeeping check the room, all but accusing me of lying for no reason I could discern. A full hour later, he calls me back with the poor head housekeeper on speakerphone, telling me she says she did in fact call me back when I called initially. ... Why yes, sir, I do believe I told you that when I called an hour ago? She said you would call me back.
"Oh, I was under the impression you thought no one was helping you at all. You must have misunderstood," he replied, in a tone that can only be described as a verbal head pat.
He'll look again and call me back. It's five days later and I never heard another word. I can piece together that nobody turned in my necklace, but I don't like it when people say they'll do something and don't, and that happened right and left in this instance.
All I can say is either housekeeping didn't actually wipe down the counters before another person came in and spotted my necklace, in which case gross, or they did and someone thought the necklace was fancier than it was.
There are too many equally nice hotels in Roswell to deal with patronizing management that doesn't even bother to listen.
The Stay was very good. Checkin and Checkout were very quick.Checked in to the hotel in like two minutes. Checked out of the hotel in one minute.
The breaskfast menu list was broad and 99% of them were tasting fresh and good.
This was our first overnight stop on a week-long road trip. We got into Roswell super late and checked-in with no problems. The room was comfy and clean with all the amenities one would need. Continental breakfast was good and filled us up for a day of site seeing.
I would certainly stay here again.
We didn't have a reservation but still had a quick check in. The staff was helpful in recommending a local place to eat. I would stay here again the room was decent for the price and the service was better than expected so late at night when we arrived.
