"Reasonable for Red Rock"

To start. I would almost give this motel a 4. I gave it a 3 only because Trip Advisor only allows whole numbers. Otherwise a 3.5 to 3.75. First I will give the minuses (in my opinion) The carpet was stained. Did not really seem dirty, giving it the sock test, but still, numerous stains. Shower faucet needs to be replaced. Strange setup. Not normal and is confusing. Quite a few rooms which are really spread out and only one elevator. Was not an issue for me, since it is only two floors, but a lot of people can't do stairs. Pluses: Price. In the Sedona area it is very rare to find an affordable place such as this. 2 or 3 times as much is not unusual for a similar experience. Quiet. I rarely hear an external sound. The wife snores, or maybe that's my echo, not sure which, but that's our problem. Secure. The area seems safe and free of disturbing elements. Hard to find in this part of the USA. Plenty of parking. Cars are not all crunched together and the parking spots are all good sized, if not oversized. Breakfast is adequate, and actually better than their website leads one to believe. The grounds are nice and wandering. Cacti planted all over the place. I like cacti, and as a side benefit, discourages late night prowlers almost as well as a .45.

"Quiet and close to Sedona"

This hotel is an older property, but very clean. Looks like the rooms are due for a remodel soon, but they keep everything very clean. We stayed 4 nights and requested a room on the top floor (2 floors total) because I had read someone's review that recommended doing that. It certainly was quiet and we had a wonderful view of the red rocks. Our room faced the road, but the Hotel is way back from the road (has a huge parking lot in front) so traffic noise was never a problem. It is a dog friendly hotel, but we never heard any dogs when we were in our hotel room. We did see people taking their dogs outside in the mornings. Breakfast was good and served until 10:30 am. but there was a sign asking you not to take any food out of the breakfast area. Overall it was a convenient affordable clean place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful too.

"Dog Friendly, Quiet, and Convenient to Sedona"

Firstly, this is a dog friendly property. Clean but older property. Plenty of parking even for car and trailer. Really need car to get to attractions and restaurants. The Mara Thai restaurant just to the north is not TripAdvisor listed. Breakfast at this property was not quite as good as other La Quinta's I have used, but only because the only eggs are hard boiled. Ask about discounts.

"1st floor zoo! 2nd floor humans."

1st mistake looking for the cheapest hotel in sedona. 2nd mistake not asking if the hotel is pet free. 3rd mistake not canceling the booking after seeing 9 dogs at checkin. this place needs a good scrub down. The rooms smelled moldy. The housekeeping could be better trained. Knock before you enter a room! Would not stay here again. Glad only stayed 1 night.

"Quaint and convenient"

The best thing going for this hotel is that it's relatively inexpensive in an area that caters to tourists and it's easy to find. The negatives aren't huge, but you should know about them before visiting. First, it's easy to find, but due to a median in road, you must be going east on 179 to pull into the parking lot. There are roundabouts close by, so getting turned the right direction isn't a significant problem, but a minor inconvenience. Second, the breakfast is OK - as in average - other La Quintas I've visited have had better, some have had worse. One significant downside is that there is a sign posted that you are not to take food out of the dining area. I've often, in other La Quintas taken a banana for my 4-year-old daughter to have as a snack - not this time. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice - we were on the north side which has the best view (in my opinion). Even though that's the 'road' side, there was no traffic noise to speak of - and we were there in July, which is when a lot of tourists go. Overall, it was quaint and convenient.
