It was late at night, and I was falling asleep while driving on I-65. So, time to STOP and REST. Because I'd be in hotel room just a few hours, I was looking for hotel for less than $100. WOW, this place had just been completely remodeled, and was by far and away the BEST value in this price range. Room was clean, service friendly, and breakfast area very clean. There was fitness room too- which is sometimes hard to find in this price range. I'd go back to this place "in a heartbeat". Keep up the great work LaQuinta!
Hotel was ok, lobby was in the midst of a reno so it was somewhat disorganized. Room was ok, a place to sleep. It was reasonably clean, but did show several signs of wear. Pool was closed, looks like it had not been used for quite soom time.Regular breakfast, toast, waffles, muffins, coffee, juice, etc. Staff was friendly and happy.
The renovations look nice, but the attention to detail is not there. There was red paint from the accent wall on the white bathroom door, the shower to bath transition barely works which results in the shower head pressure being poor. There was a night stand with a chip on the edge, a broken outside window pane, and the handicap rails in the bathroom looked old. Also the drain pipe on the bathroom sink was wrapped in insulation which made it an eyesore. Additionally, there was no refrigerator (come one, really?).
The staff there was very friendly though. Hopefully the feedback we gave to the front desk will make a different as the attendant took a lot of notes about our concerns.
Was a little concerned when walking into the building that the hallways were rather dingy and smelly with construction products but our room was recently refurbished and did not have the smell at all, was tidy and clean. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was fairly standard
Downsides were that our room was at the far end of the building, quite a long way from the lobby and having to walk around and past all the renovation materials and staff. The front entrance of the building was also hard to find as there was a lot of outside construction as well.
Had to go to front desk 4times during Friday-Monday stay for new keys that for some reason might work once or not at all. One time the manager even escorted us to our room to make sure, plus he verified keys didn't work! Stayed in renovated room----very nice. Workers were everywhere....in lobby, new hallway carpets, breakfast area, etc., but staff stayed smiling & upbeat. One major disappointment that I couldn't overlook was that my iPad would not work :(. Evening manager gave me toll free # to call, & I spent 1.5 hours on phone with no success. The next morning when manager's Mac wouldn't connect to wifi either, she deducted our 1st night's charge to reciprocate; a very generous move. Hopefully they'll get that corrected because I couldn't work for 3 days, whereas I've never had a problem at other area hotels, restaurants, etc.
