"Weekend getaway"

The worst experience!! First, we go to check in an hour after check in time and were told that our room was not ready, along with the other poor people in the lobby, who like myself had to stand there and wait forever while the front desk clerks completely ignored us. Second, we finally get to the room and one of the comforters had clearly not been washed as it had food on it and when I call to ask for another one, I wait so long that I finally had to go get it myself, and of course the people at the front were playing on their phones. This hotel has completely ruined my stay and I hope this review helps someone else to book another hotel down the road!

"Adequate-nice size room"

My husband and I stayed a week during the Galveston Feather Fest. The location is "west" of the main part of town but was okay for us as had a car. Due to staying a week we obtained a rate of less than $65/night not including tax. Front desk staff were very cordial and helpful. I had the feeling they had few resources as when our TV stopped working about the 5th night they offered to move us to another room but had no ability to call a maintenance person until the next day. We really didn't want to move but would have liked to watch news coverage of Boston bombing. The next day the TV was repaired (plugged into a different outlet) but the refrigerator and microwave didn't work.No maintenance staff was available to the front desk crew. I had the feeling they had circuit breaker issues. Housekeeping was sloppy, piles of towels left in the hallway apparently at the end of the day. Breakfast was as advertised. Better than many-had yogurt and fresh fruit. I'd stay again at the right price. Is located across the road from seawall--didn't have chance to walk in area but looked nice. No restaurants close by.

"Not worth what they charge"

Stayed here for one night on 6/1/13 and was charged $215. however by the time they add all the taxes it was closer to $250! This room at best was just adequate and certainly not worth the price. It's not even located directly on the beach. Upon check in the front desk clerk had an attitude and acted as if she was doing us a favor. She gave us a room on the third floor and when we entered it stunk like meldew and did not have a balcony. I asked the housekeeping staff in the hall if there were any clean king rooms on the floor that had a balcony and she said I should check with the front desk and that the air conditioner was out in the hallway on the third floor. Went back to front desk and she said she could get us a balcony but, with two beds and on the second floor. we took it but, she certainly was not trying to accomodate us. My husband is an elite member with La Quinta since he travels frequently and I mentioned this to the clerk because the policy is to upgrade for return members she said " I see that" and dismissed us. Furnishings were adequate but, personnel and clientele were less than desirable. We talked with another guest in the elevator and she said her truck side mirror had been knocked out in the parking garage. I will not stay here again!

"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE"

i called and made my reservation of two rooms for four days and paid with my credit card. when we arrived they couldn't find my reservation when they finally found it they told me that the rooms were not ready. i left came back again and they told me that they only had one room available even though i made the reservation for two, i discussed with them that i had paid for two room not one, they finally gave me both rooms. during the night my wife heard noises got up and turned on the light and saw two rats. the next morning as i was leaving my room i saw another baby rat running into the room next to mine. left to the beach and when i came back i received a call to my room that i needed to leave the room, i clearly told them that i wasn't gonna leave. the next morning i decided to leave the hotel because it was ridiculously that i had so many problems in that hotel. i'm definitely not coming back or recommended with anyone, the place its nasty and dirty and the service is really disorganized and bad. now they are charging me 380.00 more than what they told me it was gonna be and even though i stayed only two nights of the four i had reserved.

"It's okay; it's adequate."

We stayed Friday & Saturday nights of this Memorial Day weekend. It was an unplanned trip & we booked our rooms just 6 days ahead. One room for my hubby & me & one room for my mother. We were pretty surprised at the rate of $169 each for Friday night & $229 each for Saturday night. Both rooms were 2 queens with balcony ocean view. The rooms had the usual tiny coffee maker with the crummy coffee, tiny hair dryer, small microwave, small flat screen tv & mini fridge. Moms room was missing the fridge & kleenex in the bathroom. The rooms had a tiny closet & small safe. The small balcony had 2 plastic chairs & we could see a little ocean but the gulf breeze felt great. The complimentary soap & conditioning shampoo were the smallest I've ever seen. Our shower head worked great. Neither room had the luggage stand & we really missed it. There was a large gap under the balcony doors & gnats flew in. The continental breakfast was ok, although the food kept running out. The hotel was definitely very basic- no frills - nothing fancy at all. We did not need the two computer business center, didn't see the fitness center & didn't go to the pool or hot tub because there were tons of kids. The beds were kind of comfortable. The checkout of $950 seems like alot to me for the value but it served our purpose.
