Queen room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was good. Staff made check-in and out easy; Dionne and Janet were happy to help with local information. Smoking area was under two lovely old live oak trees at edge of parking lot; well lit, with canopy and benches even...much appreciated!
This place is situated on a busy road yet I thought very quite -- Check in and check out a breeze -- very nice desk staff -- Room was king bed with sofa sitting, good desk area -- microwave and fridge and I thought very well appointed -- Crown molding adds a nice touch and the room was very clean --
Only complaint -- very thin sheets on bed that looked like they had better days -- and would I stay here again -- Yes, Yes and Yes --
LaQuinta on Pinhook Road in Lafayette, LA is charmingly appointed and very comfortable.
It has crown moldings throughout and nice furnishings. Lovely women at check in and out.
It is only a short walk to a wonderful restaurant. Real Cajun hospitality!
Very small room with one hard chair at desk. Ice machine/coke machine directly opposite room
flooded first day. Requested another room but none available. By second day carpet in corner of room wet. Staff apologetic. By evening-arriving back at 8 PM exhausted after sightseeing, could not go to sleep as water gushing under door into room. Could not use chair and desk as floor sopping wet. Would have left for another motel but very late and we were tired. Had door open until 9:30 with staff moping up. In morn corner quarter of room had wet carpets and was unusable.
Manager offered $50 discount which did not make up for being unable to be comfortable for 2 day
stay.
When checking in to this hotel the staff were friendly,, when we got to the room we noticed the toilet seat off...., room was dirty, i.e. pieces of kleenex beside the dresser,... poorly vacuumed, floor dirty, we asked to move to another room in which we found the towel rack yanked off the wall, no where to hang towels, the bathroom floor was dirty, the toilet would not flush, my husband had to remove the toilet tank lid to juggle with the plunger, and the bathroom smelled like sewer.
This hotel is in bad need of plumbing maintenence and a more thorough cleaning,
I am quite surprised that management has let this hotel become so run dow....., Other La Quinta's have much higher standards,
I would not stay there again.
