Took the kids here last summer and it was perfect. We were on a budget so I loaded up the little fridge with microwaveable food and sandwich stuff. We bought a city pass, good for just about every attraction there was except sea world and could walk just about everywhere (The Alamo, Ripley's, Children's Museum, Riverwalk, etc). It was great to have free breakfast and just a short walk to our destinations every day. I brought the kids back in the afternoon for a swim before going out for dinner. Overall, it's not luxurious and there aren't a ton of extras but the little microwave and fridge saved us a ton of money, and we really enjoyed the pool.
Also, please note that in all my research of hotels near the riverwalk I found that some, even if the hotel rate was a great deal, charged up to $25 extra per day just to park! La Quinta parking is free. The only place I had to drive all week was seaworld!
We have been staying here for almost a month as my husband's job has us traveling through Texas right now, so this has been our temporary home. We picked La Quinta because we have 2 larger dogs and there are no pet restrictions or extra fees. I never would've thought to stay here otherwise, but i have definitely changed my mind. This location is perfect. It's close enough to downtown without dealing with all the traffic! Although it's not a bad walk to downtown, we just jump on the trolley and we're there in 5 minutes. The staff here is great and extremely accommodating. As we've been here for awhile, we have gotten to know some of them, and they are great to us and our four legged children. Parking included is a great plus as most hotels will charge a hefty fee/per day. If we ever come back to San Antonio, will definitely stay here again! oh, and special mention to the ladies at the front desk - they are the nicest that I've dealt with over our travels. Great job LQ!
Hotel was super clean and staff extremely friendly. Only issue was the room service card in room- food is not that great- too high priced for what you receive and too many hidden charges for the delivery. The Front Desk gave us a different delivery service to call - CANDIES- food was awesome and nicely priced- serving size very large
Conveniently located off interstates. Very clean! Helpful staff! Free onsite parking( a big plus in San Antonio). Shuttle trolley and bus stop located just out of motels parking lot. Shuttle runs till 9 pm nightly, allowing guests to go out to enjoy the sights without having to pay for additional parking and to avoid the traffic!
It was very important that our rooms were adjoining. The lady on the phone told me to be there at 10:00 AM. I was. Lisa greeted me at the desk and was very helpful. We had adjoining rooms and were able to watch the young children on a monitor after they went to bed. It was a great night thanks to the advice of the receptionist and Lisa's help!
