A La Quinta traveler |
Nice place to stay. Clean rooms, good breakfast, and nice pool area. Shop around before ordering pizza from the business that sponsors their card keys. 12 miles from Six Flags. Lots of great things to do in Chicago. Highly recommended.
I reserved a non-smoking room only to be told upon arrival that the only room left in the entire hotel was a smoking room. To conjure up images of the Seinfeld episode, La Quinta knows how to take a reservation but not how to hold a reservation. I was told that all of the non-smoking rooms were "given away" which is completely unacceptable given the reservation having been already in place.
I will never stay here or at any La Quinta again.
This hotel is conveniently located off major highway with easy access around Chicago. It is very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The best for us was taking the kids to visit with out of town guests and the indoor pool was clean and warm so everyone enjoyed it. Breakfast was included in morning and remained open if people were still dining. The only negative thing was that when we returned late one night there was not a lot of fast food restaurants near the hotel. Overall, great hotel. Even our dog had a great weekend away from home!
I was here recently for a conference and enjoyed my stay. The bed felt comfortable, the cable was working, internet access was reasonable. The bathroom was fine, and there was enough storage for a short trip. The entry area is very nice, invites conversation. The eating area was clean, the breakfast was standard continental. I did not try the pool but it was a nice indoor touch. The exercise room however was poor. No clips on the pedals, and the controls were unresponsive. If you can determine your heartrate in some other way, the recumbent bike does rotate normally. There was no cleaning supplies to wipe the sweat off the area, and no water dispenser either. Aside from this negative, this is a great hotel for an economy stay.
pretty good value, as a pet owner I can always count on La Quinta. But this one (Bannockburn) presets all the televisions so they can't go above 1/4 of their volume, so I could not hear the television from my bed. I understand the decent intention of discouraging your guests from blasting their tvs, but this was a bit much. We had brought ten dvds to watch on our vacation, and there was no mention of this policy in LaQuinta's advertising. The manager was not at all helpful or even sympathetic on this one.
