"Do not stay at this hotel"

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend (8/15 - 8/17/14) as we celebrated our 26th anniversary, and we were extremely dissapointed, and quite upset with our overall experience. For starters, they had very little parking, and part of their parking space is shared by the city of Salisbury during the week. There were a lot of stains and cigarette butts right at the entrance of the hotel, and there was a homeless man camped out not far from it, which we found very unattractive as a first impression, though we do have empathy for the homeless. The carpeting in the hallways of every floor were very soiled and dirty, with majors stains, spills and dirt streaks throughout the facility, which immediately turned us off even before we got to our room. When we got in the room, it surprisingly wasn't too bad, but the toilet seat in the bathroom was so loose, it was ready to come off. When I went downstairs to the front desk to report it, one of the desk clerks for that night (Autumn) had this nonchalant attitude, as if she didn't care less, but another clerk (Toya) was very responsive, and sent a maintenance person up immediately to repair it. The next afternoon when we came from church services and went back to our room, we only noticed one clean washcloth. I called downstairs and asked if we could have another sent up, since the maid apparently forgot to give us two. I was told that one would be sent up right away. Fifteen minutes went by (it wasn't that busy downstairs), and no cloth. I called down there again, and Autumn answered the phone again and said one would be sent up. After waiting another 10 minutes, I was livid. I went to the desk and asked for a manager, who was in fact there at the desk with the two clerks. I told her that as a global traveler who have stayed at many hotels, I was not pleased with our overall experience of our stay thus far. I told her that Autumn has a very nonchalant attitude that we didn't appreciate, in addition to the inconveniences we've experienced. I then told her that as Choice Privilege members, we would never stay at La Quinta again, let alone their facility, and that as soon as I got home I would write a scathing review. Honestly, my wife & I have actually stayed at other La Quinta locations before, and have been very pleased with the accommodations, but our stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Salisbury, Maryland, has turned us off completely of that hotel brand. We just can't afford to take another chance. RJ & PJ

"Do not stay at this hotel!!!!!"

There is so much wrong with this hotel, it would take a week to write about it. So I'll tell you about the esthetics. Everything and I mean everything is dirty! Don't dare walk on the rugs barefoot, Lysol everything, everyday! Don't trust the housekeeping, nothing ever gets dusted or vacuumed. Don't look too closely at anything, your gag reflexes will kick in. What happened to this chain of hotels?? They were at one time an acceptable last minute alternative to getting a 4-5 star accommodation. The towels were threadbare, the sundry items didn't match and why would anyone put a coffee maker in the bathroom next to the toilet??? It was disgusting.....

"Awful. Not just annoying but also dangerous."

I am at the hotel right now, and at midnight, the room next to me sounds like party central with what sounds like at least 8+ adults partying loudly inside. There are at least 10 teenage kids hanging around in the hallway by the elevator outside my room. On the other side, I can hear a man complaining to his wife about how vagrants are lurking in the (I adequately sized) parking lot around the cars and how this hotel is filled with low class dirtbags. It's not just annoyances, but dangerous as well: The fire hose is MISSING from the emergency kit next to my room, the fire evacuation map has been torn off the back of the door, and my peep hole is cracked and I can hardly see through it. Yet I was charged $200 for this room for one night. I have come to expect much better things from La Quinta. This is so far off the mark that La Quinta corporate should really reevaluate whether this property should even bear the LQ name.

"DON'T GO, BAD HOTEL!!!"

The hotel is obviously running into the ground. The room reaked of mold, the elevators barely worked, the continental breakfast tasted bad, the carpets had tons of dirt in them.If you can go somewhere else, go there! Don't go to this hotel!!!!!!!!!!

"Not Great, Not By Any Stretch"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 7, 2014

Inexpensive for August in the DelMarVa region ($105) & free parking in the surface lot. That was the only decent thing about this place. No restaurants within walking distance. Only fast food grease nearby. Must drive to the other side of Rt 50 to find decent fare. The brightly glowing M&T bank sign next to the hotel will shine into your room all night long, This is because the window drapes are the fixed style & can't be moved to shield the room from light. There's only that flimsy white panel. Rug was dirty, stained & felt grimy underfoot. Disgusting. Bring flip flops for room wear. The neighborhood is run-down, not the hotel's fault it just is what it is. If you like adult bookstores & fetish shops, you'll be able to have your pick within walking distance. If you're crashing for a few hours this might be ok - - otherwise find another place. I've stayed in plenty of good, clean La Quinta hotels. This is not one of them. Not recommended.
