Trashed. No reinvestment. Breakfast overrun and poor selection. Hotel takes advantage of large group coming to Gainesville for spotrs and has no interest in serving their guests. Three buildings, one ice machine. One staff person to handle all your needs. No security or maintenance staff visible.
I was given a room with a family already in it , that was an awkward moment. My second room smelled like smoke. The hotel stated that it was smoke free. My third room the tub was dirty at that time I gave up. I decided to go to Walgreens and buy cleaning products and clean up myself.
This hotel has one of the least inclusive listings of rooms that I have seen in a long time. There are only 3 cholces: 2 doubles, 2 doubles with micro and fridge, and ADA king. We prefer to have a micro and fridge due to medical reason, we also prefer a king bed, but the two preferences were exclusive of each other here. We chose the 2 doubles with micro and fridge, since they are more important to us than the king bed.
The hotel is an outside entrance one. This did not show up in the photos. There is an elevator on one side (the odd numbered rooms), so if you have an even numbered room on the upper floors, you will have a bit of a walk - either up the stairs or around the building. The rooms are neat and clean, but there is no door on the bathroom to prevent the light from the toilet area from creeping out into the sleeping area. I don't know what the designers had against bathroom privacy, but they sure didn't provide for it at all. I had to get dressed in the tiny toilet/tub area. Not fun!
The breakfast area was simple and clean, but we had to go thru the lobby to get to it since the outside door to the buffet was blocked. The door claimed to be locked at all times and the room key would be needed for access, but it was not locked. It was propped open slightly - defeating the locking security.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. They switched our room from the even side to the odd side so we would be closer to the elevator. The mall is right across the street and there are many restaurants in the area. This is a great place to spend the night while on the road, By the way, the pool looked clean and several people were using it while we were there.
We always stay at this hotel when traveling thru the Gainesville area, it is close to everything, but just far enough away. The rooms are always clean and beds comfortable. The staff is friendly. Breakfast convenient if you like that style, otherwise restaurants are not that far away.
"Nice lobby area, average rooms, exterior leaves something to be desired"

I personally do not like hotels with rooms that open to the outdoors (as opposed to a secure interior hallway). This hotel is the former. I don't know if it was because of this or just thin walls, but I heard a lot of talking and noise coming from outside. Fortunately, it wasn't all night, and I slept fine (the beds are very comfortable). Again, the room was fine, nothing to rave about, and the lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. Overall, a decent stay for the price.
