"Just very average and overpriced"

Our room was nice, seemed clean, and had cool fixtures and furnishings. But, it didn't feel as though the hotel was being cared for or being given the attention this new hotel deserves. The young man that checked us in was very friendly and helpful, but distracted by other hotel personnel while making us wait to get checked in. The breakfast was typical of what's offered, which was fine. At $139 a night, it was ok...but I will look elsewhere on our next visit to DFW.
The front desk staff (Greg, Brittany) were amazingly helpful. The hotel was packed the week we were there, and Greg went out of his way to help, from fixing the elevator, fixing the printer, helping an injured child, and answering all of my questions. He was the epitome of professional, courteous demeanor.
The breakfast staff was helpful, as well, although the backlog for the "Texas Waffle" never was addressed. She said that she would make one for my daughter, but then must have forgotten. The breakfast offerings were plentiful, with hot items, real oatmeal, and cold pastries. The coffee was never empty.
The rooms were very clean.
We stayed at this inn while attending a Texas Rangers game and visiting Six Flags over Texas the following day (June 26-28). The room was nice though quite narrow (possibly because next to the elevator). The breakfast over the two days were decent (scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, and other choices). The breakfast area was spacious and well appointed. Our son and his friend enjoyed the pool area.
Two things were irritating and affected our stay. First, though we booked a room for four at a higher price, only THREE towels were furnished each day. Even after we went to the front desk on Day 1 and got more towels, the maid only left three the next day. No towels were available for the pool, so there was water in halls and elevator as guests went back to their rooms. Worst, especially from my wife's standpoint, despite the fact that we left the hotel at 9:00 AM, our room had not been serviced when we returned at 5:00 PM. When my wife called and asked why, the staff said our room was skipped because we had DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door at 8:00 AM. Seriously? No apologies. We were told that she would come clean it immediately, but then we were required to vacate the room while it was cleaned. The maid was rude, we assume because we had disrupted her schedule.
With a two night bill of nearly $300, we expected above average services and amenities. The hotel elevators are also extremely slow, taking a long time to stabilize before the door would open. While the room and breakfast quality were good, we were disappointed with the maid service and oversight, and felt like the property really skimped on towel quantity and availability.
Wonderful staff and good breakfast. Not far from 6 Flags. CiCi's across freeway if you've got kids. Hotel rooms don't have travel size shampoo, lotion etc in bathroom; might be new trend to cut cost. Walmart on same street and Target across freeway.
Stayed two nights, the room was clean and comfortable. We had to make a noise complaint at 12:30 one night and the staff (Roshaud) was very nice and professional in taking care of the issue. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
