"Brand New LaQuinta!"
Reviewed Sep 6, 2014

This new style LaQuinta has only been open 2 months. Smells new and clean! We ended up staying a second night for a "rest day" in our cross country trip. The perfect place for such a day! Hotel removed from main town with a country feel. Although it's along side busy I - 40 we could not hear traffic from our room. A local attraction is the Route 66 museum. Well worth a visit.
As stated in the title, this is a new Motel. It's nice to smell new carpet and new furniture, rather than old dandruff and old pet smells, and the smell of the spray they use to cover up the fact that previous tenants chose to smoke in bed. This place has non of that. Nice and new and fresh.
This is not the fault of LaQuinta, but there is road construction in the area, making it difficult to find the road in. I actually got mixed up and ended up back on the freeway with no choice but to go to the next exit and backtrack. They should post some signs down by the highway to guide people in.
All in all, the room was nice, and the room was clean. And I probably won't notice the freeway noise once I down a couple Wild Turkeys. Apparently, sound abatement was not a primary concern during construction.
There are no really close eating facilities, and what there is, is made more difficult to get to because of the construction. Should be better once that is completed.
This hotel was opened in July 2014 so everything is new. The décor is very nice, nice tile floors in the entry to the room and bathroom. Dark furniture makes the room look rich. The lobby is very large with plenty of seating for breakfast. Breakfast was average but I think it was because the hotel was not crowded and we were there 15 minutes before the end. They have a bar between 5-11 PM.
This is a beautiful La Quinta that had only been open six weeks when I stayed there! The rooms are large, and obviously immaculately clean and well-maintained.
I had to take a star off for the difficulties of getting to the hotel due to road construction around it. I drove around Clinton for 20 minutes, able to see the hotel, but unable to get to it. I called for directions and still had some difficulties (and I drove 6700 miles in the past month with no problems!!!)
This is a really bad situation. Tiny signs directing you and a town that is laid out kind of funky. Directions on the hotel website tell you to make a turn at Corbin Street, but the street signs are miniscule. Front desk clerk told me that management realizes this is a problem and is putting pressure on the town for better signage...but it would seem that the hotel might need to invest in this themselves. I was VERY aggravated after driving alone for ten hours with two dogs to not be able to easily exit the interstate and slide into the hotel parking lot. Be aware of this if you book the hotel.
I found this hotel on my iPad as we were driving. We had driven as far as we wanted and were looking for a good place to spend the night. We booked a king room with separate room with a queen bed. The room was so clean and spacious. The bed was comfy and a great place to relax. The breakfast next morning was conveinient and good. It made us ready to face another day of driving. Daniel was at the front desk to check us in and he was so friendly and helpful. It was nice to see a smiling face after a long day. Kudos to Daniel, he is a great employee!
