The hotel is new with great looks and located in a quiet setting. You can walk the neighborhood nearby yet it is close to many restaurants five minutes away. The staff are very friendly as well as the breakfast was above average for the price of the room.

"If you need a quiet, comfortable hotel, here it is."

This LaQuinta was a clean, open hotel. Not very loud. Actually, nothing really note worthy here. People were nice, but no standout. In fact, I never knew anyone's name at all. Food was okay, nothing stand that stood out. They took pets, which was terrific. Big downer for us was this "religious(?) compound that overlooked the property. It was not soothing having this cement block building with "flames" on it. Yucch! Visited the zoo, but, they actually had to block the freeway off THE day that I went there with my sons. There was a sniper walking along the freeway that Day!!! I wasn't exactly feeling a great deal of comfort or security in the city while we were there... All in all, the hotel was okay. Quiet. Immediately next door to a RedRoof (I won't stay at those motels...EVER!). Their 1/2 of the parking lot was busy, but LaQuinta was not. Too bad. The better of the chains for sure...

"New hotel, in a way"

Stopped here on way from Chicago to South Carolina beaches. Hotel had recently opened but was not a new building. It was built into a structure that had been gutted and turned into a la Quinta. The original elevator and perhaps the stairwell remained. Consequently the elevator was slow! The hotel was fine, the beds were firm and the rooms clean and somewhat larger than average. The only drawback was that checking in took 15 minutes or more, since I had to return three times from the 4th floor to reception because the electronic keys would not unlock the room. Did I mention the slow elevator? Anyhow, the young woman at reception went up with me the 4th time, bringing keys for the room next door. After she couldn't get into 407 either, we switched to 405, which opened without issue. As for the rest of the stay, the pool looked larger than average, but was outside by the driveway, so not inviting enough for us... Breakfast was very good with more selections than average. The breakfast area was too small, so time it right or there will be nowhere to sit! Lastly, the hotel is between a red roof inn and what looked like an evangelical Church. There's nothing else within safe walking distance... No gas, no food. It is certainly convenient to downtown Knoxville about 5 minutes away by car. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again unless it was raining and the kids wanted to swim or if I didn't have a car.

Our family has stayed at this hotel twice, and we truly enjoyed our stay each time. The hotel is clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Our daughter is a student at The University of Tennessee @ Knoxville, and we plan to visit Knoxville quite often. We have decided this hotel will be our place to stay each time we come!
