"OK. Prices high and not enough staff"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Sep 16, 2014

I passed through Pecos in December 2013. I had a reservation for their two-bedroom suite. It's not a real suite (living room plus bedroom). Because there is a door to bedroom they can call it a two-bedroom. Just be aware of what you get if you reserve the suite. Because of the oil boom in the area, rooms are hard to come by and expensive. About 9PM, I opened the bed (hideaway in the couch). The sheets were filthy. Lipstick marks on pillow. Obviously not changed. I called the front desk. I asked to have new sheets brought up. I was told no one could do it as the front desk person was the only one on duty. I was asked to bring the dirty sheets down and they'd give me a new set. Wasn't happy. They didn't have the right sheets for the foldaway, so they gave me flat sheets. No apology or offer to make it right. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was good and staff very friendly. That's the only good part of the stay. In hindsight, I should have driven the extra hour to Van Horn where there are more choices, better prices, and more restaurants. As we arrived on Sunday, many of the local restaurants were closed leaving you with Denny's at a truck stop, McDonald's (brand new), Pizza Hut, and the restaurant at the nearby Swiss Clock Tower which was a service disaster.

"Enjoyed our suite"

If you must stay in Pecos, TX then stay at the La Quinta. The hotel is clean and family friendly. The price is higher but that's due to the oilfield work around there and it has lower cost than some of the lesser hotels. I've tried several in this town and this is the ONLY one I would refer.

"12 hotels in 20 days"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Sep 4, 2014

This is the most expensive per nite after 20 days of travel. For that you get phones not working, no wireless in room (4 story hotel), pillows not in room for sleeper sofa. Went down to speak to folks at desk. one girl was slumped over chair in dining area. the other was playing with her cell phone. my wife was calling from room and I from my cell while at the desk. no phone rang until one girl picked it up and suddenly it started working. my my wonder how that could happen? I can only stress you will not get what you pay for. We stayed in some remote parts of utah, colo, and ariz and never had an issue with wireless or customer service. This will be the flop of the trip as we get back to austin tomorrow. if you are thinking of staying maybe you should read this review one more time!

"Pricey but very nice"

This is a new hotel in a small town with few restaurants. Accommodations are excellent. The price is out of my range, but at the end of a long day of driving, a necessity. Knowing the price of the room ($200.00) I will look elsewhere the next time I am in this area.

"Best hotel in Pecos"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 19, 2014

Hotel was very easy to find. When we arrived we were greeted by the manager, she was extremely helpful. The room was clean and well furnished, and had a great view of the golf course. This is definitely the best hotel in Pecos, it is also the best LA Quinta I have stayed in.
