"Really nice"

I stayed here on Thursday and Saturday nights this weekend, two separate nights, two separate reservations, and each time it was top-notch.
The La Quinta business model is awesome. They charge just enough to keep things nice, but the price isn't scary to the average person. The rooms are comfortable and luxurious enough.
At the Bismarck location, the staff is friendly (although one lady that checked me in could have been warmer) and helpful. Overall, I will continue to stay at the Bismarck La Quinta.
We travel all over the West with our hot-shot delivery business. Usually we have our dogs with us. So we have stayed at many La Quinta Inns, since they are always the easiest pet friendly motel to find. Plus, we can always depend on having an extremely comfortable bed, early check-in with late check-out, and decent reasonably clean accommodations. And in our travels, it has become quite apparent that not all La Quintas are created equal. The Bismarck, North Dakota location is only a year and a half old, and is definitely a cut above many of their other inns. Really superior in every way! Everything is comfortable, fresh, new, spacious, bright, shiny, clean, perfect! And what a beautiful indoor pool area. Great stay at that hotel!
I stayed two nights with my family in this hotel. We had a two bed plus fold-out couch/bed hybrid.
The service and amenities where great. The breakfast (and free dinner on Thursday- Erberts and Gerberts subs and Beer/Wine) where great, and the main breakfast area was comfortable and reasonably large. The pool was fun (if small and too clorinated), the fitness room was great, and the computers in the business center where excellent.
The room was mostly great. Very large, comfortable while sitting, and clean. However, the beds where pretty poor - the main beds where overly firm, and the mattress on the fold-out bed was a joke - you could feel the springs in it.
Also, the walls of the hotel are very thin. It was sometimes difficult to sleep when children where running screaming through the halls at midnight. I'm sure we where just as aggravating to our neighbors, but the situation wasn't pleasant.
Other thoughts: The Wi-Fi in the hotel was great, The location was OK, it was on the interstate, and right next to a gas station, and a short drive to the Capitol and Big Boy.
Overall, our stay was good, but be aware of the noise and bed issues.
Newer hotel is a nice place to stay. We used to get much better business rates, but they seem to have discontinued that practice. So no more stays! Other business rates are lower and keep the accountant happier. Granted that this is a better hotel, it is just more expensive...
Breakfast is improved over the original.
On a cold winter's night recently we decided to stay and extra night in Bismarck and using the free net at a Starbucks we we're fortunate to find a room with short notice at the La Quinta near I-94 in Bismarck. Our check in reception was simply indifferent ...we seemed to be another set of faces at the counter. We stayed in a King room which had a comfortable chair with ottoman and a tall lamp directly behind it (perfect for reading the newspaper). The room was fairly standard otherwise and in our new world of large screen TV's the set at this Inn was on the smaller side but as clear as you would ever want with many channels and HBO. The bed was a sad excuse for suitable sleeping accommodations. The bed felt like it was box spring parked on a box spring and the covers were merely adequate and nothing special. The breakfast in the morning was a bit lackluster and the check-out was anything but warm. So overall it was clean, new and quiet, however, at 129.00 a night it was not a great value (It was more expensive than the Radisson in downtown Bismarck).
