"First stay after arriving at Denver International Airport"
Reviewed Jun 4, 2013
Ard70 | Apeldoorn, The Netherlands
We're making a road trip through several states, starting in Denver. As this hotel is just a short distance from the airport, we decided to reserve a room here for our first 2 nights.
The room is large, as is the shower. There's not bathtub in our room, but that's no problem for us. All the regular ammenities are here, even the noisy airconditioning (being dutch, we're not used to that).
Reception was very nice and check-in went very smooth.
There's a large mall area in Aurora that we visited to do some shopping for the stuff we didn't bring as luggage.
There's a some building going on next to the hotel, but our room is on the other side, so can't really comment on that. You may want to make sure you get a room on the non-building site though.
We're seriously considering using this hotel again when we return to Holland in about 3 weeks.
I booked a room at this hotel so that I would be closer to DIA, I specifically checked this hotel because I would need an early morning shuttle to the airport and free shuttle service was listed on the amenities list.
I called the hotel directly prior to leaving my location to go to the hotel. The hotel clerk could not provide me with directions to the hotel nor tell me the actual street address. Considering the lack of information obtained, I rang up the hotel again to confirm that shuttle service was available to DIA. I was told that Airport shuttle service was available.
Upon arrival to the hotel I discovered that ht ehotel did not provide a shuttle service to DIA. I was told that if I had made the reservation through the hotel, Airport shuttle would be available through an outside service, However, since I made the reservation online the shuttle service was not available to me.
Realizing that the Desk clerks were the same people who had been so helpful by phone I requested an audience with the General Manager / Property Manager. There was no onsite manager. I was handed the phone to speak with the General Manager who repeated that he could not help me.
This looks like a nice hotel. However, the employees are poorly trained and totally uninterested in assisting a customer at a time of need. The General Manager was un ininterested in trying to assist with the problem and found it humorous when I asked about his supervisor.
This would probably be a good deal if you lower your expectations to 0. I would not recommend the establishment to anyone simply because of the inhospitable and unfriendly attitude of th General Manager and the staff.
Not too far from Downtown Denver, the zoo, museums, etc. It had a pool, hot tub, and really nice gym. They also served a decent breakfast (for being free).
Check-in was easy. The bed was extremely comfortable (king size, pillow top mattress, down comforter, etc.), big tv, nice bathroom. We spent some time relaxing in the hot tub. The time of year we visited, the week following Memorial day, there weren't a lot of people, so the hotel was quiet and peaceful.
Not much of a view because the hotel front faces the mountains, while the rooms face north and south, but you can at least see it from large windows on each floor.
You can also have dogs at this hotel - we didn't have one, but I bet that's a nice bonus for others.
I got tired of waiting at the hotel across the street and came here. The hotel was very nice. There was no bathtub which didn't bother me but for those who want a soak it may. Not much in walking distance for restaurants but still not a terrible location. Had I been able to get the room for 70 with tax I would've rated this hotel a 5. Wish they took CLC cards.
The hotel itself was very nice, very clean and nice staff. The neighborhood itself had a bit of a rough feel but we had no trouble. Great that they allow dogs and do not charge extra for them, that is a real plus! The breakfast was good, eggs and sausage during the week but my husband missed them on the weekend. Would like to see more fresh fruit (only apples available) and maybe a danish or donuts instead of the little muffins ( which were dry) and wheat bread along with the white bread. Overall, it was a lovely trip and we will be back next year!
