"Great Stay"

We needed to be centrally located for 3 days... Close to BART and Danville and Castro Valley. Nice, clean and well taken care of. Good breakfast bar with good selection. Most amenities one would want with an IHOP next door.

"Best and reasonable place in Dublin, plus free breakfast!"
4 of 5 stars Reviewed Mar 25, 2014

This is the third time I've stayed here at this location. Last time the place looked a little run down, but now there have been renovations, so I'll upgrade to 4 stars! Regular price per night is around $110, so $50 per night isn't a bad price. Even breakfast is included! My reservation was logged no problem and our room was ready when we arrived. Parking here is no problem, got a nice spot right in front. Luggage carts are available to bring in all your stuff .... no bell hop though. The room they put us in, just by chance was in the best location possible, for me anyway! We had a room on the second floor just up from the lobby right next to the breakfast buffet! That just means we don't have to carry our food and coffee very far down the halls. Sure beats all the way down on the end of the third floor and having to take the elevator! A few steps and breakfast is served in bed! Speaking of breakfast, no it's not a full on fancy breakfast buffet with live omelet cooks like in a casino in Reno. I've stayed in many a hotel with free breakfasts, and this is actually one of the better ones. There is a selection of breads, bagels, cereals, hot foods like sausages, potatoes and killer fresh baked cinnamon rolls. There was even biscuits and gravy! Also of course there is the ever present waffle upside down flipping machine thingy. A nice selection of chilled juices is also available. As for the room, it seemed quite nicely renovated. New granite shower walls and vanity along with nice looking room interior made it a place I'd like to return. The lighting at the sink was bright, but not really the right light color for putting on makeup, in case that is a concern of yours. Every room now has a nice fridge and microwave. The bed was super soft and bouncy (that comes in handy sometimes!) and the TV is now a nice flat screen. We didn't do any TV watching though. The free WiFi and internet access worked well. You get the access code at the front desk. You can use wireless or wired if you have a cable. I brought my ethernet cable so I get the best connection. The AC (yeah AC in Feb!), worked well and was not too loud like the last time with the old units. Some of the upgrades in the bathroom were nice, like the motion sensing light switches and the relocation of the toilet paper holder to a more convenient easy to reach location. Ever seen places with the TP mounted to the wall back next to the toilet tank, who the hell thought of that! There was no shortage of hot water and no loud water pipe noises like last time. I didn't have much interaction with the staff other than the front desk, but what I did was pleasant and competent. This is a great place to stay in central Dublin!

"Very Nice Stay"

We had a very enjoyable stay at this LaQuinta. We did pay a few dollars extra for a larger room with sofa and kitchenette area. Well worth it. We had an issue with mold on the shower curtain which we informed the front desk of as we left to visit family. We had a fresh new curtain by the time we returned and an adjustment to the bill which we hadn't even requested. Bed and bedding were very comfortable and we both have bad backs. We travel with a memory foam topper but we didn't have to use it. Breakfast is extensive in a big airy room and we never had problems finding a place to sit. My only complaint about breakfast is whatever mystery meat they use for breakfast sausage, they could really stand to find something better. My husband said it tasted like the worst meatloaf he ever had. But there were plenty of other options to choose from including biscuits, gravy, hashbrowns, waffles, fresh fruit, canned fruit and cottage cheese, cereals and hot cinnamon rolls; I don't know how anyone could complain about the breakfast. We had a bit of hallway noise outside our second floor room in the middle of our last night which I understand was very bad on the first floor. I will only bring this up because I heard a very unreasonable woman rant about it at the desk and in case she or others give a bad review based on that.... my understanding is that a large wedding party came in and got so out of hand that management had to call the police. Other than that, what can they do? Be reasonable people! Blame the selfish inconsiderate people who caused the problem and chalk it up to a bad experience that was not the fault of the hotel.

"Wow - this is a La Qunita?!?!?!?!"

Stayed at this hotel over a weekend to see family in the Bay Area. Had received this hotel through a winning 3* bid on Priceline for the Dublin / Pleastanton area. Initially was disappointed -- I'm used to La Quinta's mostly being a 2* or 2.5* experience. However, I was literally shocked upon check-in. Very nicely done lobby at the hotel. Very clean, modern hotel room with VERY comfortable king sized bed. Bathroom, bathtub and shower were immaculate and clean with plenty of towels. The hotel has a small pool and Jacuzzi but I did not get a chance to use either. The free breakfast is your standard La Quinta offering with make your own waffles, cereal, juices, danishes, etc. Great location off freeway. My room was very quiet -- heard nothing all night except for the air conditioner / heater unit which was a bit loud.
