"No internet, Long Walk, No Parking, Loud Lawn Workers AM"
Reviewed Jun 13, 2013

I had asked for a room close to the elevator since my dad recently had a stroke. Turned out that there is only 1 elevator, and its at the very end of the hotel, and our "close to the elevator" room was on the opposite side of the elevator down a long hall.
The bathroom was VERY small and the rug was stained. There was NO internet from midnight through the next day. It didn't matter where I was located. It worked when I first arrived and then it shut off. I even tried it in the lobby. The front desk didn't care and wouldn't help. They needed to reset their router (even I know this)! No business center either.
I was awaken by loud leaf blower sounding equipment at 830am. This was horrible, since we didn't arrive until late the evening before and needed to sleep in.
There was NO parking anywhere near the back end of the building where the elevator was located. Therefore, I had to park practically on the main busy street and walk all the way down to the back of the building and then once on the second floor, I had to walk all the way down to the front of the building to my room.
The front of the building is a busy main street net to the interstate and the back of the building is a trailer park. Limited parking.
We have to stay in a lot of pet friendly hotels and for the most part they are either super fancy or super budget. We are used to the amenities at super budget hotels like this one. However, this was not a great experience for us. We attempted to check in as usual but were welcomed by an empty lobby. I waited and waited. No explanation, no note, no bell. A guest finally saw me waiting and informed me that the only person working would be down in a minute, as she had seen him at a guest's room. Once he arrived, he made NO apologies and proceeded to take several phone calls while checking me in. One appeared to be from his superior, he never mentioned that he had a customer in front of him, instead he just discussed company issues in front of me. The room we were assigned to was not ready so we were asked to wait some more while they quickly cleaned it. The rest of the stay was uneventful but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Seeing the hotel from the room you think it is not a place you want to stay for the price. But the front desk clerk was very helpful and nice and the room overall was perfect for my pet and I.
I will be back as I am now in the area frequently.
Not sure what I expected for $77 but the room was smelly and damp. We had issues where the sink would back up with foul stuff when you flushed the toilet. Not recommended. Luckily just passing through for one night.
I would recommend this hotel for it's location, comfortable beds, good TV, and courteous staff. However, I do not recommend the breakfast selection, especially if you are diabetic because it's mostly carbs. Also, their internet service leaves a lot to be desired, and the room decor needs to be upgraded. But we would definitely stay at this hotel again. It is in an ideal location to get to the beaches, downtown, and to the Interstate. It is also close to shopping and restaurants. In general, the good things far out-way the bad at this hotel.
