We have stayed at LaQuinta before and loved their quality and value. Most are pet friendly. We didn't travel with our furry family but like the fact that it is an option. Wish there were more locations, as I would like to only stay at LaQuinta !
We were in Hickory for my daughter's gymnastics meet the hotel was very nice and clean and staff were very friendly, I would definitely stay there again . We were con ineptly located to shopping and dining
Great price, quiet and nice folks. Not as clean as I like but manageable. I find it hard to sleep with small AC units in the room - they're loud and dry the air out like crazy. Having a cooked to order breakfast made up for that!
Second time staying at this hotel and very pleased. Very convenient to I-40, nice clean rooms. Very good breakfast included. A step up from the usual complementary breakfast because they have cook to order omeletttes. Very good coffee too. The price is very competitive as well.
The pluses: Convenient location, Breakfast, Rooms, and comfy beds.
Minuses: Older Hotel has smallish Bathrooms, Nice Pool but it is outdoors.
For years I've stayed at La Quinta when ever possible and prior to this their facility at Greenville/Haywood South Carolina was by far the best.They were just trumped by Hickory/Conover,NC.Terrific location,fabulous staff,their traditionally great beds,clean,quiet and many many good restaurants within a one and half mile radius(Ruby Tuesday,Red Lobster,Carrabba's,Olive Garden,Applebee's,etc).Also close to the Hickory Motor Speedway as well as I-40,Baker's Mountain and 30 miles from South Mountain State Park.Where they really excel compared to other La Quinta Inns and manmy other hotel chains is that they serve a full breakfast buffet versus the traditional continental breakfast and you can also get something personally made upon request.Cook is present during the serving hours of 6AM to 9AM.It is included in the room rate.If you are making plans to visit Hickory for any reason I would strongly recommend this property.Matter a fact I'm returning next weekend with my girlfriend.For even more convenience there is a Seafood Restaurant attached to the hotel.
