We have stayed at many LaQuinta's, but this has to be one of the very best. The site is gorgeous, easy to fine, and well taken care of. The staff was friendly, and helpful, while the property interior was totally top shelf. Everything was absolutely perfect, and we rate it a certain five star.
We travel across the country twice a year and stay in La Quinta hotels because of their dog policy. We travel with two dogs and are always welcome by the hotel staff until we stayed at this particular hotel. The manager said, "We have a 50 pound minimum per dog." We said our dogs weigh about 55 pounds and he said, "Absolutely not." After driving 12 hours my husband was about to blow a casket. Walking outside, I see a woman walking her 80 pound dog and she said she was staying at the hotel. W H A T? Well, the manager sees us talking to her and he comes out and says he will let us stay there but we have to take the dogs through the back entrance and then charges us $150 for a $109 room. Then in the morning we walk out see that our small trailer has been damaged. Just avoid Memphis is you can............This hotel sucks!
One of the better hotels we have stayed at in the area. Great location near the mall and great restaurants.Would definetly stay here again.Very helpful staff and nice clean hotel.Could do without pets in the hotel but was not a problem for us.
We stayed here for two nights on our way out to Dallas, then stayed again for one night on our way back to NC. The property is very clean and is in a good location near I40 and outside the downtown area of Memphis, but close enough to the downtown area to drive in and sightsee. There are many restaurants and a large mall very close by, as well as a Target. The price is very reasonable, the staff is very helpful and the breakfast options are good for families (waffles, yogurt, fruit, eggs, etc.) We didn't have to time to use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. My only 'small complaint' would be the coffee was like water, but there is a Starbucks not too far away, and I tend to like very strong coffee anyway.
We stopped at this La Quinta in April and again on June 5th on the way to Texas. It still is a great place to get a good night's sleep, great breakfast, clean rooms and pet friendly. We've stopped at other hotels in Tennessee and found this one the best for our needs. Easy to get to and back on the road. Friendly staff at the desk and the maids are great. Some of them recognize us now and the dog. It's always nice to see a business that keeps their employees and treat you as a guest not an inconvenience. I'm sorry that other traveler had a terrible time with loud dogs. We keep control of ours and never had a problem with other people's dogs. We will make this our favorite spot in the future if we go through Memphis.
