"Typical clean, well-maintained La Quinta"

No complaints, esp. for $80+tax. Room was clean and well maintained. I was a bit miffed that breakfast on Sunday didn't start til 7, but I went down to check out at 6:30, it was already set up. The employee mentioned he usually sets it up around then. Only black mark was that the downstairs urinal was out of order. WiFi worked well.

"Quietest Hotel"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 16, 2014

Hotels are know for the constant noise from patrons moving about and noises coming in from the roads nearby. I was shocked to realize while I was checking in that I could not hear any noises from the nearby interstate while standing in the lobby. I was also pleased to discover that the a/c in my room ran continuously creating white noise that would cover any outside noises trying to penetrate my room. (I'm often awakened when an a/c unit cycles on and off). Even the doors closing on the room seemed more muffled that those of other hotels I have stayed in, so there was no slamming of doors all night long. Kudos to whoever designed this hotel. The staff was very helpful and the check in/out process painless. Small spot on bathroom counter missed by housekeeping staff. very minor.

"Clean, On US-77, Price Hi, Service OK, (Alternatives worse), Nearby Restauarants"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 19, 2014

Pros: Competion is non-existent: There are No other decent hotels in Raymondville (others in Raymondville have very poor Trip Advisor ratings) and it's probably >40 miles to the North on US-77 until you reach another hotel, so probably should stay here unless you are headed South. Rooms. Clean bedding, carpeting, bathrooms. Bathtub porcelan (rm 223 Ithink) had a couple of black chips but these weren't mold just missing porcelain. Security Good: Plenty of close-by well-lit parking near the front door. Well-lit hallways with newish carpet. Food: 4+ nearby fastfood places (McDonald's to east, 3 other places on TX-186 (Hidalgo street) that were open at 9PM saturday night. We left at 630AM (breakfast only starts at 7AM so no opinion there--we ate at McDonald's) Cons: High Cost: $100 a night (+$10 tax) is about $15-$20 more than I think a small town Texas La Quinta should cost. Service OK: I waited a minute for a night desk clerk to appear (~10PM) and no one arrived. Rang the bell--still no one. Rang the bell a second time more loudly and the clerk arrived. He was very friendly every time I spoke to him (was immediately present previously at check-in). Location: As hotel is on southbound I-77 access road, It is difficult to reach from the main E-W road in Raymondville. I tried to return to the hotel from TX-186 using a parallel N-S neighborhood road to the west (N. 11th Street) and then use San Francisco rd (an E-W road just North of the hotel that connects to the access rd. PROBLEM: San Francisco road was a muddy quagmire due to construction. My car almost fishtailed into a ditch and separately I almost got stuck in the mud. I finally reached the access road with the sides of my car covered with mud. Sooo. do not do what i did--find a longer but safer route. I would say the hotel is currently inconveniently located if approaching from the west or south. Air Conditioner: wasn't real loud but wasn't real quiet either. Ice machine had been permanently removed from second floor but the ice sign still directed you there. Conclusion: As all the nearby alternatives are worse stay here. But if heading further South consider staying at the San Benito Super 8 (28 miles South cheaper and better-stayed there earlier this year) .

"Very comfortable"

This is a most attractive Inn and staffed by a very pleasant and knowledgeable team. I found my room to be spacious and well appointed and maintained with a modern and comfortable motif. I spent three nights here and the bed was great and there were no noise to distract from a restful stay. The TV was a huge flat-screen with a great number of channels.
