A nice place to stay close to Presque Isle. Pet friendly. Pool good for small children. Nice staff and decent morning breakfast. This was our third stay for weekend getaway. We would come back in the future.
I traveled to Erie, PA to celebrate my birthday weekend with family. The hotel was very convenient to Presque Isle Casino, the Erie Zoo and Millcreek Mall. The room was very clean and hotel staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
We choose this LQ because of its proximity to Erie Downs. We usually stay at much higher priced hotels on Peach Street in Erie. We had an AARP rate and were not expecting much. But, to our surprise this was a very clean, well maintained property.
Even though the property has some remodeling going on, the disruption was minimal. (We stayed Friday night to Sat. am).
Breakfast bar was very good and the staff attentive.
Great location and avoided a lot of the traffic congestion on Peach St. A very nice find!
Although the hotel is being renovated it did not infringe or disrupt our stay in any way. The rooms are very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff is very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The location is convient ( right off the interstate) and close to shopping, restaurants, and the casino. The hotel will give you a voucher for $7 free play for the casino. The breakfast is presented nicely and has sometihing for everyone.
As a previous reviewer stated, we too have stayed at many LQ's and we love them because they are pet friendly without extra fees and also military friendly! (Mr served with the USAF) and we've had many great experiences. So, we stopped here coming off an 8 hour drive because it was 2am and we were beat. We are LQ rewards members, after calling their 800 # and being transferred to a foreign speaking associate who told us they had no availability at the Erie location, we called Erie directly and we were told that they had availability. Hmm. So, after that debacle we checked in at 3am with no problem. The room was on the second floor and the beds looked welcoming to us. We called the front desk to confirm late check out (which is only til noon for LQ rewards members) for us the next morning (SUNDAY). This location may want to think about talking to their rude housekeeping staff, who pounded on our door at 11am demanding to know when we'd be out of the room! I am taking issue with this because they could have been a little more polite and a little less loud. But, it's not like they are extremely thorough when they clean the room anyway. There was some hair on the sheet, dried ketchup or jam on the wall by the fridge, empty wrappers under the bed skirt and they had failed to replace their "Do Not Disturb" sign so we couldn't put it on the door. I called the front desk after the housekeepers left and the clerk said the night clerk failed to notify him of our extended check-out!!! What a miserable morning. Then, we were charged an extra fee for having a safe in the closet - which we never even utilized because we didn't stay in the room long enough to realize it was there! Lastly, the water pressure was terrible! If we hadn't been so desperate to rest we would never have paid over 100 bucks for this kind of experience :(
