A La Quinta traveler |
Hotel accomodations in Berkeley are a mixed bag and I think that this La Quinta stands out from other higher priced choices for its cleanliness, quality of service and goof free checkin in and out.
While the building facade is not particularly noticeable, inside it is clean, quiet, and comfortable with well appointed rooms and a good breakfast and lots of secure parking.
I recently stayed here for the first time. I usually stay at the #2 ranked Berkeley hotel. I found the rooms to be clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I don't eat breakfast so cannot comment on that but the tea and coffee were good.
A few hours after we checked out I realized that we had left something behind and called the front desk. They tracked it down for me and held it for a few days until I could get someone to pick it up for me. I think that I will be staying here again!
I am rating this hotel excellent for its category. It is a 2-star hotel and seems to achieve a high degree of excellence within that division.

Everything here is great. location. local stores. the locals. everything. The staff makes or breaks a hotel and this one has a great crowd of people. The maids the front desk and even security is all professional peoples and nice.
Even though my reservation was accidentally cancelled, then reinstated incorrectly, Jack, Courtney, Monica and George all made sure that everything was made right. They sincerely apologized, standardized the price, and were so accommodating and pleasant. Even though our 10 rooms were not available in one area, George arranged for our rooms to be grouped in 3 clusters. It was genius for him to do that. It allowed for us to have adults with each grouping. We were soooo pleased with everything!
I got there and young lady asked for my AAA card and I got a discount! Also they had a best buy promotion and I received points on my rewards card. She was very atttentive and helpful. Place was very clean and bed Linens were so comfy! Breakfast had a wide variety of coffee, pastries, cereal, egg, sausage, etc. will definitely come back because I had a great experience in all of La Quintas.
