This was the worse hotel we ever stayed in. I knew we were in trouble when I saw how dirty the entrance doors were. It only got worse from there. The desk clerks were friendly and courteous. Our bed sheets were clean and that is about the only good thing that could be said. Hall walls were dirty and the carpets were dirty and stained with who knows what. Our room carpets were so dirty that we put the dog's bed in our bed with us. Seemed to be a seedy area so we used a lot of caution. I see from another posting that a person was murdered the night before we stayed there. Did not eat breakfast there for obvious reasons.
Elevator and hall floors and walls filthy. Our first night we ddn sleep because of loud airconditioning and area. A person was killed in motel right behind our balcony. (Which from the news is the third one recently. News report had area residents saying illegal activity happens on every street corner.). On second night a man on our floor screamed filthy talk on and off all night. At several points i expected to hear gunfire. There wasnt anything done to this man. It sounded like he would hit the walls and scream the same filth over and over. The door would open and slam and start all over again in our hall! Apparently "his woman" was with another man yet apparently several were staying there! Stay away from laquinta downtown and away from this area!!!!!
I haven't posted poor ratings in the past, but my recent visit to a great town, Chattanooga required a hotel that can accommodate my pups. I am part of La Quinta's reward program and have spent a number of nights in 3 states at their hotels and have always been impressed with my accommodations, until NOW! The hotel is right off I24 and minutes to the downtown area, although it is surrounded by light industrial and commercial older buildings. The hotel is of an older vintage and although landscaping was above average and clean, the exterior was dated. There is a large sign in the reception area that says they are renovating and a stack of HiDef TV's in the lobby suggests that its going to start....but certainly not in our room. The furniture was old, shattered and unsightly, the carpet was stained and the bathroom was circa 1990's with pealing surface in the bath tub. I requested a change in room but they stated they didn't have any..don't think that's accurate but we stayed because had an appointment in a 1/2 hour. The room and bedding was clean but the appearance certainly made us uncomfortable. Breakfast at 6AM was ready and was up to La Quinta's standards. Only other disturbing event was at breakfast, a "street person" wandered in, asked the desk person "understand you have free breakfasts?" and the clerk briefly looked up and nodded yes. I'm all for taking care of the disadvantaged and this individual was courteous but again I was uncomfortable with him being close by. My problem, not his. I will not return, and strongly recommend other options until renovation is complete.
I stay at LQ Inns all over the country! But this place takes the cake! I Booked this one the LQ site and used my rewards points. Was surprised that the hotel was under renovation upon my arrival. There should have been a warning of this situation. Rooms were dated and wore out. Dust everywhere. TV was old and poor picture quality. Hammering started at 8:00am. At 8:30 a worker walked into our room without knocking! There was no hot water to shower and shave. When I complained, the clerk stated "Oh Well you stayed here free on rewards points"
Was in chat town last night with my grandkids, at first I saw the front entrance needed cleaned I thought ( I don't know about this ) when we checked in the help was very friendly the lobby look good the pool area was nice and they had a nice picnic area with grilles the room was redone looks like everything was new the air worked good We had a good time I would stay again
