"My Family and I LOVE THIS PLACE.."

My Family and I have being going to the N.Stonington La Quinta since they opened their doors. The Staff are really the BEST!!. They are all way's there to help. On my last visit there I had a medical issue and they forwarded me to get help very quickly as I needed it. God willing I hope to go there many more times in the future.. We travel from NYC to La Quinta here to see the shows at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and we also travel to R.I. to see shows which is very ease to get too.
Great hotel in a wonderful location. We stayed for one night to celebrate out 5 year anniversary. We had stayed there 2 years ago . The hotel is located near all major attractions foxwoods casino , beach and mystic . We had a large suite which was like a mini apartment . The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!
OK, so, what would it take to hire a friendlier front desk agent? Or perhaps someone who is at least familiar with the La Quinta Returns program?
Don't local hotel chain owners realize that this individual is their director of first impressions? One might easily forgive the frump of underpaid youth were there even a modicum of welcome or cheer.
Instead we are resigned to the walk of shame, wondering between the front desk and the room whether this will be another sad accomodation in another lackluster chain hotel...and, please God, let it not be as bad as the one in Michigan last week.
How easily different it might have been if this Friday night traveler, weary from the road, armed only with an online booking and TripAdvisor expectations, had been welcomed with a cheerful "Hello...Welcome to La Quinta! We are happy to have you with us; Oh, and I see you are one of our Elite guests [your title, not mine,] so thank you for your loyalty! You are entitled to complimentary water and a snack?and a room upgrade!" Hmmm, not so bad. I feel better about the place already.
Doesn't management know that they are setting themselves up to fail? Or is their failure really a lack of even caring?
It wouldn't have taken much to turn this experience around, because the room turned out to be surprisingly good. Too late, though, for I have already had to offer apologies to the wife, and unless they had assigned us to a suite with dinner and a butler waiting, there was no going back now. [And what use is status in franchise hotels if you never get the promised upgrade?]
Never again, I promise myself. If I want to be embarrassed in front of my spouse, I can do it at home for a lot less money, and have the good company of a TV in a separate room to watch all night.
This will likely be my last foray into booking at La Quinta. Even as I write this I feel guilty about my rush to judgment, but also angry even at having to feel guilty or dissatisfied in the first place. Shame on LQ Stonington for ruining us for the rest of La Quinta going forward.
Our stay was 3 nights and we enjoyed it immensely. Fantastic, clean and friendly hotel. The staff couldn't be any nicer and were always there to meet all of our needs with a smile. Bill at the desk was super! We will come back!!!!!

Not recommended for those visiting the casinos as the property is out of way on a rural route which is pitch black at night. Breakfast (where's the bacon?) and toiletries lacking (no shower caps or lotion). It appears that guests are assigned to rooms that are convenient for housekeeping to clean (right next to each other on the floor). At night it is quiet inside/out, but noisy in the morning you can hear through the walls/floors.
The property is new and clean, but appears to operate on a tight budget. Also the distance to the casino is not as close as advertised, so the lower rate was not low enough, in my opinion.
