We are loyal La Quinta Return members so we stay in a LQ whenever we can. Our stay consisted of 3 nights. The hotel could use a little TLC but overall the stay was nice. For an older place I was quite surprised by the space of king suite with the sofa. The bed and pillows were both very comfortable. As far as the room goes, the only negative was the lack of lighting, especially at the desk. A desk lamp would greatly help. While I know we all want to save on energy costs there are far better bulbs out there to use that conserve energy. Maybe management ought to consider a few LED's place in the ceiling cans. Breakfast was weak and items were very limited in all areas compared to the other LQ's we've stayed in. The hotel's location is great for other dining. Lots of good restaurants close by and many are within walking distance.
This is a below average La Quinta compared to many others I've stayed in from coast to coast. Our room was kind of shabby with a torn mattress skirt, an old RCA TV and although it had a desk there was no light on it. The only light was from a dim-bulb recessed light in the ceiling which made working at the desk difficult.
There were two different women at the reception desk. One was very pleasant, but neglected to give me any info about Wi-Fi upon our arrival (as most places seem to) and the second was not so pleasant and gave wrong directions to a restaurant.
We stayed at the La Quinta Inn Missoula May 3 - 5,2013 for our son's wedding. The hotel was very nice and clean and the people were very friendly. The room had a fridge and a microwave. Our grandkids enjoyed the pool and hot tub both days. The breakfast was a pretty standard continental breakfast with waffles, toast, cereal, juice, etc.
We stayed here after driving from Great Falls with friends as a stopping point on the way to Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park. This hotel was in a great location and was really easy to find. The service was just fine, the only problem was the long wait to check in; there were about ten groups in front of us waiting to check in. The pool was adequate... a little small. It was really easy to get to nearby restaurants from this hotel. I would really recommend check out Sa Wad Dee thai restaurant while you are there. It was delicious and affordable!
The GOOD: The motel is easy to find - right off the freeway. It is very accessible to shopping and dining. Our room was ready and exactly what we requested. My daughter liked window sitting area. It was a cozy place for her to read and listen to her ipod. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets thick and fresh. I even liked the pillows. Our room was clean but I wasn't looking for dirt. The bathroom was clean and I was looking for dirt! Outside noise was non-existent which seemed incredible since the motel is right next to I-90. We didn't watch TV so I can't comment on its quality.
The BAD: I have never stayed at a hotel in my whole life where I could hear the people next door snoring. TV and conversations? Yeah, but snoring?!? TV and conversations were going on until midnight. Snoring commenced and continued until 3. I "catnapped" from 3-7am.
The bathtowels are small, thin and scratchy. Brawny paper towels would have been an improvement. Also the room lighting design is poor. I am 50+ and need better lighting to read by. No desk lamp just a fluorescent ceiling bulb - no task lighting. I guess that was just inconvenient, not "bad."
The INDIFFERENT: Breakfast. I don't stay at these motels for their breakfasts. They have the waffle maker, a crockpot of gravy for the biscuits. Cereal, yogurt, apples and oranges. A juice machine. Bad coffee. If you want to stay and eat, go ahead if not then, walk to Starbucks and get good coffee and a pastry. There is an Irish restaurant across the parking lot to eat at too.
The BEST: Service! Yes, I did complain about the noise keeping me up most of the night and requested if we could have a more secluded room. They accommodated us right on the spot. We received new keycards, went up and moved out and over.
All the staff was out and about cleaning the breakfast tables, taking out trash, mopping the floor whenever wet kids ran out of the pool area and into the lobby area. The staff was extremely attentive.
We stayed for three nights and I would stay here again.
