"Not too bad for the price!"

We stayed 2 nights and had not too many complaints. There were children running in the halls above our head but the night clerk took care of it. The capuchino vanilla coffee for breakfast was very good. The omelette was very dry. There is a large sitting area which is nice. The swimming pool seemed to be well used. There is also a hot tub.
Hotels in college towns seem overall very pricy for what you get, and this hotel is no exception. I stay at La Quinta fairly frequently in Arizona with one of my child's sport teams, and they are uniformly great-this hotel is a downgrade from those. This hotel doesn't have the distinctive La Quinta architecture, but seems to have been remodeled from another hotel chain.
The room itself was very nice and there are few complaints about it, but otherwise the property is unexceptional. Fort Collins is a great town, but this hotel is in an off-ramp location next to a Days Inn in an area that seems warehouse like and semi industrial - no stores, etc. to walk to nearby. None of the charm of Fort Collins in this location - must drive everywhere.
The public areas are shabby and sad. The business area with a computer to print out boarding passes has old computers with greasy keyboards. The computer desks were nicked and worn. Patterned furniture clashes with patterned carpets. Overall, the public areas seemed thrown together in a mishmash. This would be OK if the price of the room was low, but it wasn't - we paid $139 before tax for this room.
The front desk staff was very nice, helpful, and courteous.
My wife and I vacationed in the Fort Collins area in order to enjoy what the town had to offer. The hotel is located on the western side of I-25 pretty much almost immediately next to it. It's a pretty large property with indoor and outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, and hot tub areas. It's situated very close to the microbreweries in the area including New Belgium, O'Dells, and Fort Collins Brewery. In addition, you're just south of the very large Anheuser-Busch facility and it's very good tour.
The property itself is, I believe, an old Holiday Inn location that was purchased by La Quinta. It' showing signs of age and the need for some care but it's not bad. Just little things here and there. We reserved one of the double rooms and it was very large and comfortable. It had dual bathrooms, rooms, TV's, etc. Made it very convenient to take an afternoon snooze while not bothering wife.
The staff behind the counter was courteous and professional. I even managed to get a large discount on our second night due to some rewards that were accrued. Early morning breakfast was better than most of had and including sausage and waffles.
For those of you who travel with dogs...........
The property is pet friendly and actually has a dog area just outside the southeast exit from the building to the parking lot. Other than that, you can walk your dog across the street on the western side of the property.
Enjoy everyone.
Excellent value. Clean. Nothing bad to say. Close to food sources. Very close to interstate 25. Great exercise room & swimming pool. Handy to get to the hospital Much less expensive than comparative motels in other states.
I have stayed in La Quinta Inns before and have always been very impressed. This time, I would describe my stay as "Meh".
There were little things that kept me from being impressed that when added up made a sum total of average....
-ripped curtain sheer with a big stain underneath
-ripped bed ruffle
-dented up refrigerator
-bathroom floor dirty around edges
-walls that were obviously repaired in numerous places
-A breakfast that did not give too many choices (whaat?? No flavored creamer for the coffee at all??)
What was good...
-Desk staff friendliness
-Lots of room for breakfast eaters
