My son and I were traveling to Waco to attend orientation at Baylor University. We were unsure where to stay, never having been there overnight before. We booked one night at the Hilton, which is really close to campus. Hilton did not have another available night, so we took some friends' advice and booked the second night at the La Quinta Woodway. Wow, what a difference! La Quinta was much friendlier, cleaner, included a refrigerator and microwave, was cheaper, included a fantastic breakfast, was quieter and not too far from Baylor. There are many good places to eat nearby if you need to go out for dinner or lunch. We will definitely stay here again instead of the Hilton!

I read other reviews about how nice this hotel was but I was still a skeptic until we visited ourselves. I consider myself a bit of a "hotel snob" and was pleasantly surprised to find that this La Quinta was very nice and more than met our standards. Comfortable beds, nice linens, very clean, nice modern furnishings and fixtures. All that, with the added bonus of a refrigerator and microwave! Breakfast was also offered and was a typical chain hotel breakfast, but I consider hotel breakfast a bonus anyway and rarely have anything more than coffee. This hotel was a "suites" version, so it had the extra sofa/chair/tv area which was nice and very spacious! The hotel rate is slightly higher than average hotels in the area, but is still a huge bargain for what you receive. We will definitely stay here again!

I have stayed at this La Quinta a couple of times previous to this last stay. I've always been impressed with it. This past visit the service provided wasn't that great, lack of communication between employees at shift change as I would receive a call about something I had already addressed previously with the desk clerk that was on shift earlier. This last stay was the first time I had experienced that as the other two stays were excellent. There was a desk clerk that seemed to go out of her way to assist and she was really good to me, her name was Chrystal, and hopefully if I stay here again I can make my reservation through her as she completely understood what customer service is about. The rooms are very spacious and up to date, the breakfast consists of waffles, eggs, bacon, bisquits and gravy, bagels, cereal, boiled eggs, etc. PS: Please note that out of all the La Quinta's I have stayed in (which has been quiet a few all over the place as I am a gold member) this one is VERY picky when it comes to your pet, so keep that notation in mind prior to reserving. For example, if you have a pet that whines or barks when you leave but will stop prior to you getting down stairs then do not stay here! :)

The hotel is relatively new, so the facilities still feel fresh. The employees are friendly and well trained. The rooms are VERY spacious, with a wide range of amenities you might not expect at the price point. Waco might not be the most exciting destination in the world, but if you're there on business, you can do a LOT worse than staying at this LaQuinta.

Stayed here as I did the P.A. for a two day track meet. First thing I noticed was that the lobby and breakfast area was a bit more modern looking than you typically find at La Quinta, even in the suite hotels. My room was the King Suite with the King size bed, a table for working, and a couch. 32" flat screen TV on the wall that I could adjust to either side of the room, which was very comfortable. Also had a mini mart that wasn't as overpriced as I figured it might be. Close to the mall with several restaurants. Didn't get to spend much time in the hotel with my schedule, but the time I was there was good.
