A La Quinta traveler |
This property was a newer hotel that was a few miles out of lake charles, la...excellent front desk staff...nice well kept rooms and bathrroms. Breakfast was ok, but, nothing to brag about. Pool area chairs wer rusted but otherwise a great experience.
This a top-notch La Quinta, a new inn that's just off I-10 between Lake Charles and Lafayette. Staff was crisp and efficient at check-in and check-out. Room was spic-and-span. (My only complaint was that Wi-Fi and many of the cable tv channels were inoperative the night I was there.)
There's not much to do in the immediate area, but Iowa LA (the locals pronounce it "eye-way") is equidistant from the casinos in Lake Charles and the massive Coushatta Casino.
Whether you're doing the red-eye across the south on I-10 or sampling Southern Louisiana casinos, the La Quinta represents a great value at a great location.
The hotel was clean. Rooms were clean. Staff were excellent, they went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. I could not have asked for better service. I would gladly stay at this hotel again. They did run out of some breakfast items on the day we went down to eat a late breakfast. However, multiple staff worked hard to put out more food.
We were initially impressed with staff and room upon check in. However when we woke up and took showers there was no hot water. Then we went down for breakfast and there was no food left with thirty minutes left. There were several families waiting for eggs, sausage, and waffle mix. After about 20 minutes of waiting the breakfast host lady comes out with some food, doesn't tell the guest who were waiting. instead she grabs a plate, makes a big plate of food for herself and basically leaves nothing for the families that had been waiting. I thought it was really tacky and poor customer service.
This is a lovely, pet friendly hotel. The 3 story hotel is clean, appeared to be very safe with interior corridors. Staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was nice and included sauage, eggs and grits alone with the regular continential type items. Great place to stop if you are driving across I-10. Highly recommend.
