Not a good experience. My sheets were not changed from the previous guest and I found hair in my bed. Gross! Contacted the front desk only to be told there were no housekeepers to change the sheets and the hotel was full so she couldn't give me a different room. Yet my card was still charged the full rate. No discount. No apology. Never again. Not one good thing to say about this hotel.
We have normally stayed in the Hampton Inn in Dumas, but have noticed this La Quinta pretty much right behind it. So, this time through, we stayed in the La Quinta.
The hotel is very nice and clean, with all the usual things you'd expect in this price range. I rank it slightly behind the Hampton Inn overall, but it is also about 30% cheaper. All in all, I would pick the La Quinta unless the Hampton drops its prices to be more competitive.
Also nearby is the Holiday Express. Have not stayed there yet, but might on next trip in order to compare to the other two.
very clean, plenty of space for our 18 month old to play, clean sheets & bathroom, staff was nice (one exception of the ditsy girl that told me they don't have anywhere to do laundry here- it's on the 2nd floor- $4 to wash and dry). The bed was good, I have back problems and chronic pain and was surprised to wake up fine. The breakfast was descent. boiled eggs, make-your-own-waffles, juice, coffee, biscuits and gravy (which was in a crock pot that was ice cold by the time we got there, 45 mins before breakfast was over), toast, muffins, bagels and cream cheese, activia yogurt,english muffins, one lonely red "delicious" apple. microwave in room, desk, office chair, bed, 2 night stands, and another chair. overall good stay so far! good value ($65/ night for 5 nights but haven't found that price for the rest of our trip here, sad but may have to move!)
New modern, 10 foot high ceilings micro and big frig great bed really nice bath with amenities. Enclose pool 25 x 50 feet, lots of light clean well ventilated and a hot tub that really works (worth the price by itself). Very decent free breakfast!
A tough-stay if you want to sleep.
Incredible amounts of noise from the hallway. Guests are loud and elevator beeps are too noisy. Disappointing that such a new property is so poorly-built. The door is not sized correctly to the floor - with nearly a two-inch gap between the floor and door and not fitted correctly on the sides either which means incredible hallway noise penetration. Even towels crammed under the door don't help much. A lot of noise transmission from room to room through the walls as well.
The front desk agent dismissed my comment/concern un-thoughtfully.
At nearly $150 for a single room, this was a terrible value. Try Amarillo, about 45 miles away, which appears to have MUCH lower prices overall.
Had it not been for the noise and dismissal of my concern by the front desk, I would have rated this property pretty high. Nice furniture, clean, nice sheets...
