"Stay at La Quinta Always!"

A La Quinta traveler |
My husband and I love La Quinta and prefer to stay there whenever traveling on business.
It is always clean, service is great, and the price is affordable. My son and his wife also stay at La Quinta when traveling. They enjoy travelilng with their small dog and LaQuinta is always pet friendly.
When we arrived early morning the front desk lady Judith was super, she gave us a room right away on the 2nd floor. Everything looked great I wanted to give them a great review............but we had a couple of issues.
First the bed is very hard, I should have, and could have asked for a mattress top.
Secondly we got stuck in the elevator, this was a little scary for my wife.
Judith the front desk lady found a couple of burly guys to force the door open and we were freed in a matter of minutes.
Apparently this was not the first time the elevator has malfunctioned, so they really need to fix this once and for all.
I agree with other reviewers that the staff was friendly and my room was clean other than what appeared to be a splash of a soft drink and possibly spit on the wall. Overall the hotel seems old and in need of a little TLC. I gave this hotel a poor rating because the walls are so thin that I could hear voices from the next room and could hear exactly what everyone in the hallway was saying, not to mention room doors slamming. But the worst part was hearing the people above me walking around ALL NIGHT LONG. Around 3:00 a.m. I thought about asking for another room, but decided to sleep with a pillow over my head because I just didn't feel like changing rooms in the middle of the night. My parents were in the room next to me and they had the same problem. My dad got up in the middle of the night to say something to the person at the front desk only to find the area empty which is a huge safety issue. If you stay here, ask for a room on the second floor and be sure to lock your door with the safety latch.
"Service was awesome....the building is letting them down"

Business in South Louisiana during Mardi Gras, and on Super Bowl week, is gonna be a problem fnding lodging value. Lucky for us we had one day near Morgan City. The rest of the time we traversed back and forth to New Orleans. Ahhh welll....when prospects agree to meet, you meet where and when they want.
So there was nothing agreeable in New Orleans, and we started looking online one week before. Reviews for LaQuinta, Morgan City were up and down. The one constant in all my reviews is that people/service make ALL the difference.
In this case.....if service hadn't been impeccable...I may have tried to move hotels.
Loud can't begin to describe what this place was.......it truly felt as if the floors and walls had shifted on the foundation...that the structue was unsafe.
Leaks---I read this in another review....we did get some rain, but I was on the first floor. Not to be crass, but I get a little grouchy when conducting a "sit down", and am in the middle of a Lamaze session to birth the baby, and I get drips of "liquid" on my shoulder and head? God I hope it was the run off from the rain that the front desk confirmed it to be. If not, the toilet above me leaked and I was being peed on. Sorry Trip Advisor....this one was bad.
Service was impeccable....truly outstanding.
My advice? Stay here ONLY if you can get on the top floor. Avoid the noise, and if there is a leak you can be sure somebody isn't peeing on you.
I had an awseome visit at this hotel. Great price for the weekend, love the deals. Staff is extra friendly and willing to help you if they can with whatever they can. Clean rooms and bathrooms. The staff including maids were great. Peaceful & quiet and beds are soft. I enjoyed my stay to the fullest. Highly recomment this hotel
