My daughter made my reservation and specified a handicapped accessible room. The room was nice but no place for me to sit down and "put my feet up". I used to travel for business and always stayed at La Quinta's wherever I went. Back then they had recliners in a lot of rooms. I admit that besides being very mobility impaired I am quite large and the only chair in tthe room that I could sit in was the desk chair and it was very tight. The bed was ok but very high from the floor. The couch was comfortable but too low and almost impossible for me to get up from. And the worst problem is that the room was on the 3rd floor.
I did have my Service Dog with me and that part was great!
Excellent hotel. General manager was on site during my stay. He was working just as hard as the staff... Actually harder. Room was great. Had the two room king suite. It was exceptionally clean. Employees were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again!!

We stayed here a few years back when it was brand new, Stayed here last night and noticed it has really started to go down hill. Exit doors coming into the side of the building are not locked after hours, and our a/c stopped working in the middle of the night. Front desk staff is really friendly.
I have experienced various degrees of service at this motel since one of my kids enrolled at HPU a few years ago. However, the past year or so the service has been very good and I also appreciate the location, which is close to Brownwood restaurants and shopping, as well as HPU. I also get a fairly nice LaQuinta discount through my employer, which makes the motel a better value compared to neighboring chain motels Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
