"Worst Hotel Ever... LITERALLY!!!"

The La Quinta Inn in my city is really nice for the price so thought this one would be similar.
I honestly would have rather stayed at a motel, because this hotel was terrible!
When we arrived to our room (401) the floor was soaking wet, when we took our shoes off our socks were wet and brown. The room had a strong smell of bleach or cleaning solution, which isn't pleasant in an hotel room. We told the clerk which was very nice by the way and she gave us a new room.
In this room (417), our keys did not work AT ALL nor did the cable work. Got new keys, sill didn't work. Manager told us it would be a 30 minute wait for the maintenance man to come fix the cable, so we could wait or move to the next room. She told us she would bring us our keys immediately.
So we move to the NEXT, 3RD, AND WORST room (419). This room smelled like mildew, floor was still slightly soaked. We didn't have time to keep changing rooms or to get a different hotel so we just put up with it! We pulled back the shower curtain, there was dirty rags and towels in the shower. The shower was sooooo loud. 2 hours past, still NO KEYS, so eventually we went down to get them and to ask for more towels.
We told the lady that the room smelled and that we needed more towels. THIS WOMAN gave us a purple and blue towel that look like the were donated from someones home! (The damn white towels that they did have didn't even match) Then she gave us carpet fresher and told us to bring it back when we were done with it! there was a roach in the bathroom.
All of the hotel employees had bad attitudes except one (Bianca).
Hotel staff were dress in yoga pants, tights and t shirts!
I got stuck on the elevator which ran really really really slow!
Breakfast food sucked, flies were flying around the food which is located right where the entrance was.
Would of rather stayed at Comfort Inn or Quality Inn right next to them!
Before we left we told Bianca about our complaints, she told us we would have to call to talk to Fetema (Hotel Manager). When we called for her, she was "busy" and never called us back. After a week and a half we finally spoke with her, she told us we then had to speak with the "owner"...
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...
After 3 weeks of back and forth calling, 2 calls the corporate, we finally received refund.
"One of the most filthiest hotels I've ever seen!"

We pulled in to get a room, went to the front desk area and there was a crowd there complaining because there was no hot water. I have to see if I could check my room see if it was hot water there, before checking in, and the front desk clerk very frustrated with everything gave me the key. I went to the room open the door and I felt like I walked in to a nightmare. there was visible grease and black on the chair, and the furniture had a film of something on top of it. Never looked like it was wiped down. There was an old blanket thrown across the bed trying to follow the La Quinta Microtel look, but a blanket that I wouldn't even let my dog on. My shoes stuck to the carpet in the floor. The bathroom mirror was chipped and broken, and the bathroom itself was
Sophie. I turn the key back and told them I would not be staying there. I wouldn't even let my precious dog stay there. I'm sure there were also it's a little critters flying in that room, and I can only imagine what would happen if it was a black light. The desk clerk tried calling the order several times due to the problem that was existed in the lobby with no hot water and a full booked hotel. He never answered or responded to the manager. Stay away
Dirty Hotel, we found used towels in the bathroom/shower when we arrived. I would not stay here again. The hotel was overpriced at $199/night because of events happening in town that weekend. A 1 star hotel at best .
Where do I begin. This hotel needs an major upgrade. When we walked in our room the carpet was moist, room was humid, strong smell of bleach (too strong), water pressure coming out of the shower head (adjustable was broken) was so strong that it felt like I was power washing my body (ouch!) room was gloomy, breakfast wasn't Denny's but it was better than nothing, staff was friendly but it seem like they were low in staff. One thing I did like was they are pet friendly although our dog wasn't himself while there which was very not like him. Location is great, you're near Cherry Grove Beach, Barefoot Landing, Walmart, bunch of restaurants, etc... I think we definitely overpaid to stay here. This is not a hotel we'll be staying again.
Well I am an experienced traveler and never stayed in a La Quinta. If this hotel is their standard I will NEVER stay in one again. This hotel was dirty in all areas including the rooms. The breakfast was very poor quality. We were told we had to wait for towels since they wash them and return to the same rooms. They have no extra. ????
The bedding was old and worn
