This was a half-way stay to a wonderful destination for us. From the moment I walked in the door I was given the run around. First at reservation, which was made over the phone, I was told I would be on the first level with a king bed. (I was also quoted a different price on the phone--by 20.00. I should have left then) My name was spelled wrong and my address was wrong. Well no--it was on the 3rd floor with 2 smelly queens. The pillows smelled of old sweat. There was MOLD in the bathroom. The elevator was a huge safety issue because all the buttons to push in case of emergency were all pushed in. If there were an emergency you wouldn't be able to push the emergency button. I asked for change at the front desk for a 5 dollar bill for the vending machine, the clerk said NO. I don't have any change. Listen people I have worked in several "uppper-scale" hotels and you always have change. There is this thing call the cash box. The A/C didn't work and the clerk said "I don't know what to do". Really--call a maintenance man. I asked to speak to a manager, the clerk said she will be here in the morning. I went to my room and was miserable. I opened the window but it was still very warm in the room. Needless to say I didn't sleep a bit.
Upon check out I asked to speak to the manager and the clerk advised me she wasn't there. It was 9:30 am. The clerk said she was away on business and didn't know when she would be back. I asked if they could please leave her a message to call me ASAP. I wanted the manager to be aware of how her employees treated customers. Well, evidently the manager doesn't care because she NEVER called me--which really didn't surprise me. So i called 3 days later and have yet to hear back from her. Me, my family, my friends nor will my co-workers will NEVER stay at LaQuinta Hobbs again. We may boycott all LaQuinta's after this ordeal.
Horrible. I just can not believe people operate their business like this. If I operated business like that I would NOT have a business, I'm sure the only reason they are even still in business is because of the oilfield.
Please do not stay here--you will be disappointed if you are used to better places with AC and NO MOLD! YUCK!!!! I would have taken a pic of the mold but I didn't want to drop my phone in the disgusting bathroom.

Did not get the room I reserved. Bathroom was filthy. Air conditioner was not working went to the front desk and got no help. Figured out the thermostat wire running to the unit was kinked and shorted out, I fixed it myself and the air came on. Then some other guest entered my room with a key the front desk gave them. I travel a lot for business will I be letting all of my fellow employees who travel the area to never stay at this hotel!! Very poor management!
The hotel looked nice from the outside and even better on the inside. Rooms were spacious and clean. The pool was great which my kids enjoyed. The staff from friendly and provided great service. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks La Quinta!
I am an elite rewards member with La Quinta and booked a room through the web site that showed a very nice pool and hot tub. This is one of the main reasons we stay at this motel. Upon arrival at 5:45 pm there is no one at the front desk so I grab one of the carts and go unload my car. I came back in and there is still no one at the front desk so I started calling out for someone to respond but no one did. I started looking around to see if the clerk was in other places like the breakfast area and the pool area. This is when I see the sign that said POOL AND HOT TUBE DO NOT WORK. Well now I am a little perturbed and still no clerk. I actually had to yell HELLO 2 OR 3 times and finally someone comes out of the breakfast area closed door. I asked how is it that the pool and hot tub both dont work at the same time and she said she didnt know what was wrong with them but they had been out for some time now. I asked how long and she said she didnt know but quit awhile. I asked to speak to a manager and she said none was working. So I called laquinta.com's toll free number and spoke with a nice lady that told me not to worry that I could cancel and my points would be returned to my account. I told her ok I would try and find another hotel and call her back to refund my points. I told the girl behind the desk i was going to my computer to find another motel and she said do you want me to cancel your reservation then and I told her no I would do it with the lady at lq.com's number again. So I buy another room at Quality inn where the Pool and Hot tub both worked for 100 bucks. Then called lq.com and the lady said the clerk cancelled the reservation and she could no longer refund my points which were 18,000 yes thats eighteen thousand points for a room in Hobbs NM. So as of this time I called the clerk and asked for her to call her boss and ask them to call me and I gave her my phone number. You guessed it still no call as of yet. Thanks alot lq I might have to get me a choice hotel card instead of yours.
All the hotels in Hobbs are too expensive but at this one they don't check the hair dryers or remotes to see if they work. Also they still use horrid, nasty bedspreads that can't be washed.
It is criminal was they are charging for just average lodging.
