I love staying at La Quinta and we never had a problem until we stayed at the one in Hobbs. This was going to be our last stop on our business trip and it had been a long week. We arrived at 8pm and no one was at the front desk but it didn't take her long to get there. She was pleasant to work with but the problems we ran into we shouldn't of had. The first room we got smelled of strong perfume and the bed look like it had been used and all the lights were on. I thought maybe she gave me the wrong room and someone else's room. She was surprised when I came back up front. The second room we tried was on the third floor and freezing and had two beds that were small and it look like the beds were old and needed replacing. The third and last room, and we were so tired of moving was finally comfortable temp when we arrive. But as the night wend on there was a couple next door that there dogs was whining all night keeping us up and the bed was so uncomfortable. We think the mattresses need to be replaced. I think for the price our company was paying we would at least got a better room. We were just to tired to move again.
Before this stay loved La Quinta. However, this was just an okay stay. For over $175.00 a night this room had a tv that had a blurred picture, the water pressure was horrible, the wifi was mostly unusable, a key that basically quit working after the first use, and the bathroom vent fan was dangling from the ceiling. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel accepts pets, including barking dogs on the third floor, although with a box fan was able to sleep. Nothing to request a room change for one night, but really expected more. I would not stay here again as there are more name brand hotels in the area.
This was a half-way stay to a wonderful destination for us. From the moment I walked in the door I was given the run around. First at reservation, which was made over the phone, I was told I would be on the first level with a king bed. (I was also quoted a different price on the phone--by 20.00. I should have left then) My name was spelled wrong and my address was wrong. Well no--it was on the 3rd floor with 2 smelly queens. The pillows smelled of old sweat. There was MOLD in the bathroom. The elevator was a huge safety issue because all the buttons to push in case of emergency were all pushed in. If there were an emergency you wouldn't be able to push the emergency button. I asked for change at the front desk for a 5 dollar bill for the vending machine, the clerk said NO. I don't have any change. Listen people I have worked in several "uppper-scale" hotels and you always have change. There is this thing call the cash box. The A/C didn't work and the clerk said "I don't know what to do". Really--call a maintenance man. I asked to speak to a manager, the clerk said she will be here in the morning. I went to my room and was miserable. I opened the window but it was still very warm in the room. Needless to say I didn't sleep a bit.
Upon check out I asked to speak to the manager and the clerk advised me she wasn't there. It was 9:30 am. The clerk said she was away on business and didn't know when she would be back. I asked if they could please leave her a message to call me ASAP. I wanted the manager to be aware of how her employees treated customers. Well, evidently the manager doesn't care because she NEVER called me--which really didn't surprise me. So i called 3 days later and have yet to hear back from her. Me, my family, my friends nor will my co-workers will NEVER stay at LaQuinta Hobbs again. We may boycott all LaQuinta's after this ordeal.
Horrible. I just can not believe people operate their business like this. If I operated business like that I would NOT have a business, I'm sure the only reason they are even still in business is because of the oilfield.
Please do not stay here--you will be disappointed if you are used to better places with AC and NO MOLD! YUCK!!!! I would have taken a pic of the mold but I didn't want to drop my phone in the disgusting bathroom.

Did not get the room I reserved. Bathroom was filthy. Air conditioner was not working went to the front desk and got no help. Figured out the thermostat wire running to the unit was kinked and shorted out, I fixed it myself and the air came on. Then some other guest entered my room with a key the front desk gave them. I travel a lot for business will I be letting all of my fellow employees who travel the area to never stay at this hotel!! Very poor management!
The hotel looked nice from the outside and even better on the inside. Rooms were spacious and clean. The pool was great which my kids enjoyed. The staff from friendly and provided great service. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks La Quinta!
