"Tiny beds, poorly designed air conditioning."
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Sep 10, 2014

While the rooms are adequate size, the double beds are not. The bathroom is also relatively small in comparison to most hotels in it's price range. It is my understanding that the hotel has just undergone renovation. For the price charged, the hotel should at the very least be able to afford Queen sized beds. In addition, what made the visit more unbearable was that the discharge of the air conditioning wall units are within two feet and at the same level as the top of the bed, so the cold air blows directly at the person lying nearest to the unit. It was too hot inside the room to turn the air off, but miserable for the person directly in front it. The hotel also loses points for not having a pool. Desk service was adequate, but the breakfast service had fruit (Oranges) that were not yet ripe. Given a choice, I would not stay here again.

They listen to their customers and will be making lots of modifications - larger lobby and breakfast area, adding a gym, making room/bathroom improvements. I will enjoy seeing it when I return next year.

Stay here twice a summer for the past 4 years. Front desk staff very friendly and professional. They really make us feel at home. Rooms are quiet and clean. Breakfast is filling, with good options/variety. Will continue to stay here in the future.

"OK room but understaffed and disorganized"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Sep 10, 2014
Born_Old | Washington DC, District of Columbia
The room looks good and is well furnished but the problem is that everything about this property seems to be done on the cheap. The walls are thin and transmit noise from all surrounding areas. Since my room was next to an external door it was particularly noisy. The check in system seemed inefficient. Although I had a reservation no paperwork was ready, I had to wait while all details were entered into the system and the paperwork was then printed. Each check-in took five minutes and I was behind three others so that was annoying. There was just one person handling reception and it needed more. Even though I was checking in more than an hour after check-in time my room was not ready and neither were any of the rooms for those in front of me. Clearly the housekeeping was also understaffed. The main annoyance, howvere, came when I tried to access tha Internet. The security code for their free wireless access is changed every Sunday and had just been changed. However, the access code I was given at check-in did not work. I went back to reception to report this (another wait) and the receptionist said she was aware of the issue and had made a call to IT support. This was not mentioned at check in even to newcomers as they arrived. After another two houurs it was still not working so I went back to the front desk again. I asked the recptionist to check my access code but she just said she had given me the correct one at check in. I asked for the previous week's code in case the update had not been made but she refused that and said she was still waiting on IT. Since I plan my trips an a day-to-day basis I rely on Internet access every night to plan the next day and book my hotel for the next night so I was not happy. In teh morning it was still not working so I went to the front desk again onlly to discover that the access code I had been given was incorrect. My summary would be to only consider this place if you are willing to deal with issues.
