A La Quinta traveler |
My wife and I where very pleased with the cleanliness of our room and the hotel ,we had a excellent breakfast.We never had such a big selection of items to choose from,the scrambled eggs where great.Hotel was in a nice location
I had to stop on a 13 hour trip to get rest and was particular about where I stopped since I had never been in the area. I can not complain at all. The staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet. AND they gave a military discount...not common! Breakfast was sufficient and saved us some money on the road. I just hate that I got there too late to enjoy the pool.
The breakfast was good. The hot tub didn't work and the pool floor was coming off in chunks. The employees were courteous and friendly, but it seemed the management didn't want to spend the money to make an average hotel into a great hotel.
We usually stay here on our way from Ontario to Florida. The hotel is just off the highway. The staff is always friendly, the rooms have been clean and nicely decorated and have a small fridge. There is a very good restaurant nearby (Sorry, I forget the name). On our first visit, we had some trouble finding the hotel and it was not on our GPS. It is near the Best Western. We appreciated the breakfast that was included with our stay and that we were able to access it before 7 am. It is also dog friendly but we never heard any dogs. We will stay here again when in the area.
We stayed here for an event in Jefferson City, TN. As such we figured this would be close to where we needed to go plus still in Knoxville. When we first checked in didn't not realize that we were literally in the "Hotel for dogs." Upon existing the elevator we see a dog going down the hall with it's owner. Ok. Then once in our room a dog left by it's owner starts barking non stop. So we asked to be moved. After getting settled into our 2nd room we head downstair only to find to my complete amazement dogs everywhere. I know most hotels have a few rooms reserved for dogs but this hotel opens up all rooms to dogs.
With my kids allergies this was not going to work for us. As you know in most hotels they do not wash the comforters on a regular basis so that means dog hairs, etc... on the comforters. Dogs are all over the carpet in the common areas so that means guests are tracking hair, fleas and who knows what else back to their rooms. No thanks!
We checked out immediately. The desk clerk was very courteous and understanding which we really appreciated. And she also let us know that all LaQuintas are dog friendly hotels.Which is fine for people who travel with their pets it's just not for us. But we appreciated the information. No more LaQuintas for us.
This is literally the hotel for dogs.
