The LaQuinta on Veterans is close enough to New Orleans to accommodate our needs. Very good restaurants nearby and easy access to major interstate. Our only recommendation would be to hire an exterminator!
Unique location for quick acess to New Orleans Superdome and Harrah Casino
cleaning staff a little lazy on preparing the room, left stuff in fridge but other than that room was preasulable clean. smoker on the outside observe smoking on stairway. This needs to be enforced because of no smoking rooms. Felt safe in room, no outside noise, staff was very professional...would recommend for singles and couples ONLY. There's no fitness center but again good for couples and singles...
Undersized breakfast room, slow internet, biting bugs, have to ask for shampoo, shower diverter did not work. Digital heater control was way off. Not the best value. Was more line a Motel 6. I will not likely stay there again.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 short nights but was very disappointed. I am a travel agent and have stayed at other La Quinta's before but I have never been to any that was this bad (my husband trying to surprise me for my birthday.. I was surprised alright). We just wanted simple but clean place to stay for the weekend. It smelled of mold, mildew and urine. We checked in and had to call the front desk to have the sheets changed because of stains, the towels are stained (we brought our own), the room smelled badly of urine and mildew. The cleaning person came in and made the beds and took the trash out... nothing else. The bath room was never cleaned but we did get "new clean towels". Room # 310 was absolutely awful. The smell was bad, the fixtures are falling apart, broken hangers. And if we had other choices without paying $500 lol for a room a night we would have left. But for the most part we did not stay in the room but to sleep and shower. Oh you might want to bring flip flops to use the tub. And yes, the beds do sink in the middle.
I have stayed at this La Quinta several times over the years, but was disappointed this time. The middle of the beds was somewhat sunk in, the room smelled sort of sour (mold? mildew? urine?), and too few towels were provided. Except for the unpleasant odor, the room seemed reasonably clean. The breakfast was also a disappointment - muffins and bagels were in cellophane packages. The space for breakfast was very small and crowded if many people were trying to get breakfast at the same time. The up and down buttons on the elevators are not synchronized - if you press one, it only calls that elevator, not first available elevator. It is not conveniently located to downtown New Orleans, but, if you have a car, it is not a bad drive down there. I would probably not stay there again.
