New carpet, friendly staff, well presented breakfast with nice variety for a continental style meal.
Manager and clerk, Clinton, provided excellent service. Night's rest was excellent. The new bedspreads are so much better, . Pillows and mattress made for a very comfortable rest. Very pleased and over the past 4 years that we have stayed at the Nacogdoches, Tx. La Quinta improvements have occurred gradually and successfully.
I have stayed here many times in the past 9 years. I have never had an issue. People expect a 5 star room for $60! It is an older style LQ, but I have never had a dirty room and I always look since hair bugs me big time.
The rooms open to the outside, some like that some dont. Breakfast is as good as it gets with LQ and this one is better than a Super8. Hotel staff has always been 5 start here for me over the years, some of the negative comments make me wonder if they reviewed the correct property.
Back when the space shuttle exploded here overhead, this was "ground zero" for "guvment" search teams, every room in town was booked. This was the only Hotel in town that 1. didn't jack the rate from double to triple 2. made a room available for my WORK crew (not involved in the search effort) AND FOR THE STANDARD PRICE.
The beds I have had are always clean and I sleep well, Internet is great. Never tried the pool so cant comment on that.
I have always had furnishing in great shape (carpet in this room looks new), door actually has all the locks LOL. Lots of parking right at your door. 2 floors and I haven't seen an elevator, so consider that when checking in.
Location for me is perfect, right on HWY 59 at the South loop.
The South side building will be quieter, there is a large parking area that can fit 6-8 semis, so if you have a trailer, no problem. You wont beat this for the $$. The cleaning staff, unlike most motels, are paid by the hour, so they DO clean. They even paid to have the lot professionally re-striped, where most are to stingy and do it by hand. LQ is owned and operated under Hilton and they know a little about motels.
Dont sell this one short, check it out and make up your own mind.
Nice clean hotel right off the highway. Only problem was no elevator to the second floor. We had a really nice two room suite on the second floor( a upgrade because of our elite status in the LA Quinta Rewards program). Room was clean and quiet with two flat screen tv's , microwave and refrig. Good WiFi, breakfast was the typical LA Quinta fare. Staff was very friendly!
We found this hotel to be very comfortable. It is one of the older hotels in the area however it is great quality for the price we paid which was $55 a night. We stayed for two nights in two rooms. The hotel has outside entry doors and are great when you travel with you pets. The back side of the hotel is very quiet and has a lovely wooded area for walking your pets. The rooms were cozy and very clean. This hotel has been maintained very well and has been updated. The best part about the rooms were the BEDS. They are pillowtop mattresses with superb bed linens including down comforters and duvet covers instead of bedspreads as well as new pillows. Nice! The rooms are equipped with flat screen tvs and a microfridge unit. There is a very large pool and quiet, shady lounge area with plenty of seating. The breakfast was pleasant and what we expected with muffins, yogurt, fruit, waffles, boiled eggs, toast, juice and coffee. The staff was very helpful and cooperative in getting us everything we requested. We will definitely stay here our next trip back to Nacogdoches! Great job La Quinta!!!
Enjoyed friendliness of staff and cognizance of requests. Very clean for an older motel. Breakfast items very palatable. Also Appreciated ability to bring in Petsamo knowing that in advance makes us return to LaQuinta motels.
