Stay at the La Quinta Inn Texarkana and you are in two places at once! Texarkana straddles two states, and at the bi-state Post Office, stand with one foot in Arkansas and the other in Texas. Hope AR, the birth place of President Clinton is less than a half hour drive from the hotel.

"Just bad"

I don't usually rate this but you need to be warned this property is old. The bathroom was dirty, tub was unstable. Went to take a swim pool was closed was told it had not been inspected. This stay was in mid June. This is Texas the pool should have been open room smelled.
Needs a major overhaul so close to highway if your so unlucky to get that side good luck I had to be moved noise was so bad,I couldn't sleep, rooms old ok for lower end, heard their had been bad shootings, did walk to eat one night but wasn't comfortable rather the Ark La Quinta, quiet on side away from hotel except for truckers and people with yappie dogs, breakfast was usual, but at least full they need a major over haul period
Stayed here for a car show event and this hotel was great. Rooms very clean and the desk staff was great. Good value for the money and its a nice clean room. Its right next to restaurants and we walked to dinner.
"Distressed older MOTEL, outside doors, but pet friendly"

This La Quinta has outside doors is dire need of a remodel. This MOTEL has outside doors and is just off the freeway - so close to the freeway I felt like I was sleeping on the freeway at times. The noise was unreal.
The paint was peeling around the doors, the showers were nasty, tub was grubby and grout was gray. The sink stopper didn't work. It was more than a bit tired-looking and run down.
It smelled a bit musty inside the room. The AC was quiet but didn't really seem to work well in terms of actual cooling.
However, that said, the beds were clean and comfortable (except for the itchy sheets). Plenty of pillows.
No mini fridge, no microwave, only a TINY coffee maker on the vanity in the bathroom area. Even the vanity area was small. Workable for one person, but not really workable for two.
It is a tolerable place to stay one night if you have a pet and don't want to pay the extra $100+ that many other chains charge. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was bit anemic and underwhelming (the bare minimum that could be called a continental breakfast).
PROS:
*Right off freeway
*Near fast food, drug stores, Walmart, etc.
*Friendly staff
*CHEAP
*Pet friendly
*Decent bed and TV
CONS:
*Too close to the freeway (lots of vehicle noise)
*Outside doors
*In dire need of a refresh/remodel
*Bathrooms were grubby, dirty, distressing. Even with shower thongs, I would not step foot inside the shower
*Odd musty smell in room
The other reviews are on the money (mostly). This is an OLD hotel, literally right off the freeway. The very inexpensive price reflects the location and condition of the facility.
I would NOT recommend this hotel to a woman traveling alone, but it was fine for an overnight stay and was pet friendly.
"A mini vacation inside of a vacation and pet frendly"

Service is excellent, the beds are wonderful, easy access on and off the Interstate. Take a right and down the street on the left is a Walmart in case you need anything. On a trip from North TN to South TX we stayed over both ways. My wife referred to the La Quinta as a mini vacation inside of a vacation. The only problem was getting her to leave before noon the next day. When our family comes to visit up they will be stopping here.
