"Does not compare well at all to other LaQuinta locations or even a Super 8."
Reviewed Sep 19, 2014
On the road for 11 days and 6 Hotels. Two Super 8s, 1 Quality Inn & 2 other La Quintas. Only one other of those places was even close to being as run down as this and that other place was a 60s vintage Super8. For starters this La Quintas signage was not working - NONE of it! Lampshade busted, no mini fridge, staff barely functional. Little things that add up. You expect consistency in a name chain like this not here. One the most expensive places on this trip and about the worst condition inside.
Rooms show their age but ours was clean. WiFi terribly slow, almost like dial up. Breakfast is only average, not much fruit. Parking lot needs to be resurfaced as lots of cracks and holes. Door on room had damage to outside. Room next door, there is a connecting door, was very noisy until midnight.
I went to Aurora to visit my boyfriend who had been up there working for a few weeks. He, along with several other co-workers, had been staying at the La Quinta and had several minor incidents with the staff during the stay but nothing major.
We went out for the day on Sunday and when we returned to a clean a room I discovered my wallet, along with $600 cash had been taken from the room. After informing the man working at the front desk about it he had us fill out an incident report. We asked him to contact the manager for us so she could tell us who's key had open our door while we gone. He refused and told us we could talk to her tomorrow when she came in. The next day the manager informed my boyfriend that the only key card that had been used on our room all day was the housekeepers but the housekeeper denied taking the wallet and the money. (Of course she would, who would tell their boss that they had STOLEN MONEY from a customer)? The manager said there was nothing she could do because the housekeeper denied the incident but she would send our report to corporate.
The man that contacted me from the corporate office (Bobby Lee) was less helpful than the manager in Aurora. He basically said the same thing that there is no evidence of the incident so nothing would be done. I demanded to talk to his supervisor (Steve) who also said the same thing. And by nothing I mean NOTHING!!! They did not even attempt to refund some of what was taken from me. Not even a free night stay. Literally NOTHING!
BOTTOM LINE: Don't stay here. They will take your things and then tell you that you are out of luck because you don't have evidence of the situation occurring.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the room as expected for a La Quinta and I would return to this property in the future. For this stay I enjoyed one of my free nights that I earned as a La Quinta Returns member, a very worthwhile member rewards program.
This was a nice place to stay for a night while traveling. Our room was very nice and what we expect from a La Quinta. We had a nice, comfortable king bed.
Breakfast was ok and free like usual, not the greatest, but enough choices that anyone should be able to fill their belly.
