Hotel was a bit run down, but the lobby and rooms were clean and neat. Beds were quite comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderful. We had lost accomodations and they were very helpful in getting us the rooms we needed to stay in the area for a wedding. They truly went out of their way to make us comfortable and make our stay easier.
I think some of the blame for my disappointment in this hotel can be placed on Hotwire, which sells it as a 3-star hotel. This hotel is absolutely a 1-star. And it only receives that star for the great water pressure in the shower and the fact that the staff is quite nice (though they could certainly take a little more pride in the hotel they work in and keep it clean for their guests).
As for the hotel itself: the toilet was clogged when we arrived, the lock on our door didn't work, the hall carpet is terribly stained, there was a hole in the wall, the tub was absolutely filthy, there was a mysterious green substance growing between the mirror and the sink. You can hear everything in the hallway and the rooms surrounding yours. The free breakfast had cereal, but no milk for it.
I can honestly see no reason for anyone to stay here. Don't be fooled by the supposed "3-star" and free parking, internet and breakfast. You can get an actual 3-star for around the same price, and just pay for the internet if you have to. You'll be so much happier with your stay.
This must be an old, older hotel, because the carpeting in the room looked as though it hadn't been shampooed since it was laid. There was a circular ring in both the chairs as though someone had set a round cooler in them both. My husband and I were there for a graduation so we didn't spend a lot of time in the room; didn't really want to! This is a "pet friendly" hotel; I did not see that before booking. According to the clerk, pets were confined to the first floor and smoking rooms (which I requested) were on the 2nd floor. It got a little tiring walking up the stairs because there was no elevator. The hotel offers breakfast; however, my husband found a hair on the muffin.
Maybe the 1st floor rooms are cleaner...NOT! That's the pet floor.
The staff was very helpful but this hotel was not worth the $75 we paid.
Our room was not in good shape. The tub, toliet and sink area was gross. It was clean-ish but so worn over time it looked gross. Our son took his socks and shoes off and had black dirty feet in 5 mins so clearly the carpets were dirty too which you could visibly see the black grim.
The service was poor as well. The girl who checked us in was not overly friendly and our phone would not call the front desk. What a pain pain pain when we need more towels as you only get 3. We hoped for a DVD player for our son to watch a movie but they didn't have one to use or borrow for the room.
The furniture in the room was not only old but warn down and slimy from not being cleaned so long.
Overall, will never stay at a La Quinta again. Our first experience will be our last.
"Clean hotel looking a little worn, and could use some updating."

Staff was delightful and very helpful. We had issues with the internet and they worked on it to get everything up and running. Bathroom door difficult to close and my mattress was worn down on one side so that I sloped down and kept waking up feeling like I was sleeping in a hole. However, our room was clean and fresh smelling. I can't say the same for the lobby. There is a musty worn smell. Sound proofing is also an issue. We on the ground floor and there was a lot of noise from above at times. Not after bedtime, so not much of an issue. In the morning there were people talking in the hall in front of our door and we could easily hear the entire conversation...woke us both up. All in all we had an enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend to others for the price just some updating needed.
