"Noisey night in the suit"

A La Quinta traveler |
I paid extra for the suit and although it was a lovely room the staff did not lock the exit door at 11:00 pm like the sign indicated and we heard it slam into the morning hours. Also the suit is located by the soda machine and the ice machine. There was no elevator that I was aware of and no carry cart so we had to load our baggage upstairs without one. The clerk did offer to help but she was a girl and my ego did not allow me to except her offer. Also it seemed like the perfect spot for some to make their private phone calls right outside our door. The night before we stayed in another room and the "nice" smell was so strong it was overpowering as though it was used to cover up previous smoke smell. I stay in hotels quite often and this is only my second bad review. Just saying. I sent a mess. to the manager and have not received any compensation not even an email apologizing for my bad experience. Oh well wont be staying there again unless I hear from someone and offer me a better experience than this last one.
The hotel had everything we needed within walking. McDonald in the parking lot in front of hotel and intertate right there. Bed very comfortable. Good area. Quiet. Very happy with whole experience there!
The rooms were clean & the staff seemed pleasant. But we watched hookers & their clients conduct "business" for our entire stay. There were several shady people staying here. This was our third trip to Columbus & our third hotel chain. This will be the last time at this hotel. Not really would I want my family exposed to & feel very uneasy about my safety.
It looks like la Quinta bought an old hotel. Not the quality I expected with La Quinta. The rooms were very tiny, but updated. Bathroom fan in-op. Requested a non-smoking room - it stunk! Will not stay there again.
Great place to stay...convenient to fields as well as restaurants....2nd time that I stayed at this hotel for softball tournament.....It was sold out....The rooms were clean and the value was right on for a great weekend in Columbus.
