"It did have a clean room"

I'm not sure I would stay at this La Quinta again. I had traveled all day from Kansas City on my way to the Corpus Christie area, so I was really road weary. The reception I received when I first arrived at the front desk was somewhat cool and could have been more welcoming. Finding a parking place near my room was tricky, as much of the parking around that side of the building seemed to be reserved for the restaurant next to the hotel, judging by the tow-away warning signs. Which, by the way, the restaurant wasn't all that impressive, for which I wrote a separate review in another post. The Continental breakfast was just OK at the hotel. One thing that did annoy me was when I first walked into the breakfast area, I noticed that the only table facing the TV was occupied by a hotel employee, and I had to choose another table. It wasn't a big deal, but I like to watch the news while eating my breakfast, especially when I'm traveling. I later discovered the employee turned out to be the front desk worker who was getting ready to go off her night shift. Even though I felt sympathy for her, I still felt it was not justifiable for her to leave the front desk unattended, as she had been sitting there for a good 15 minutes. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. But I think some customer service issues needs to be addressed at this particular La Quinta.
This is a nicer 'old' hotel.Maintenance of the hotel and area seems to have improved since I stayed a few years ago! My room was fresh and clean. AC worked very well. Breakfast was ok, a better selection than many LQ have been offering. The area was a little noisy because of people at the pool, but the room was quiet. A decent place to stay.
Everything about our stay was great including the room and staff. The hotel is a bit older but the maintenance has kept it up well. Good value and good location Recommended for anyone needing a quality place to spend a night or more.
This is the typical outdoor La Quinta. We stayed for a weekend. We checked in on Friday and left for a meeting all day Saturday. When we returned back Saturday night the room had not been serviced, no clean towels, trash still left and the beds had not been made. The front desk did give us some extra points on our LQ account and the GM did email me his apology, but for a room not being serviced when you were gone all day is a first for me. If you are staying longer then a night be sure they service your room, if not it might be worth the 20 extra dollars to stay at the newer LQ across town
This visit was a weekend visit, with a trip between, downstate to see my son in Nacogdoches at SFASU. On Friday and Sunday nights, I stayed here and have been here once before. For the value, you can't get a better deal. The property is clean, older but DO NOT BE PUT OFF by that.
The rooms are clean, the beds are nice, comfortable, the air conditioner feels great as it is usually very humid in the area.It is near I 35 but once you shut the door, it is pretty quiet. I have stayed near the pool and on the other side too.
Ricky, the front desk clerk ,from 3-11, is absoutely the best! He is friendly, attentive and waits on each guest, until they are taken care of, before moving on to the next person.
The breakfast is a simple continental type, but it is ok.
My only advice would be, to put a computer in the lobby for quick reference or printing out reservations for future travel, plane or hotels. I do not normally take a laptop, nor do I have an I Pad. The hotel is located near the campus and historic downtown, so that is also a plus.
