"The staff and our rooms were very nice. Price was great too."

I called ahead as I had read some negative reviews. We were assured that this hotel was nice and our rooms would be also. The staff was right. We will definitely be back. We arrived late in the evening and the entrance and flower beds were beautiful. Our rooms were very nice and clean, beds so comfortable, and air conditioner worked great Hot waffles and fruit for breakfast started our day out before heading to Galveston. Nice start for a Mother's Day celebration.

"Almost Perfect"

Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Only I minor issue. You had to step up to get into the tub. The step down, with wet feet is a bit tricky for us older folks. So make sure you put a towel on the floor before getting out. Otherwise . . . perfect! Also, only a 10 minute drive to the beach on Seawall Blvd.

"Great Place To Stay"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 17, 2013

Due to a family emergency I traveled to Texas City and reserved a room at the La Quinta Inn. The room was affordable and very clean. My grandmother was admitted in ICU so I was traveling every weekend to see her, I stayed at the La Quinta each time I traveled. Erin and Jessica assisted me each time I traveled there and were wonderful. This past week my grandmother had passed away, I had to travel to Texas City for the funeral. I walked into the La Quinta without a reservation and was greeted at the front desk by Shay. I was frazzled and Shay went out of her way to assist me with anything and everything I was in need of. I stayed a couple of nights. The day I was to check out was the day of my grandmother's funeral so I had requested a late check out. Upon leaving the graveside service, I realized I was going to be running late as I still had to go back to the church. I called and Shay answered, I told her I was sorry but needed to request an even later check out. Shay told me not to worry about it and not to worry about what time I got back to check out. When you are dealing with losing a family member it sure is nice to know that people care enough to assist you. Throughout my stay at this hotel, the staff was amazing, the rooms were clean, and I had no issues at all. I would recommend this place to anyone that is traveling to Texas City. They made me feel as if I was home away from home. A big thank you to Erin, Jessica, and Shay for assisting me each time I needed a room. I can't thank you enough, Shay, for going out of your way for me as you did during my time of need. It is people like you that keeps people like me traveling back to stay at your La Quinta. Derek, you have an amazing staff, thank you for having such fantastic employees. Side note: This is an older hotel but it is nice, clean and affordable with very comfortable beds. Also, the complimentary breakfast consists of waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, etc. The coffee tastes great and it is good and hot. If you would rather have a full breakfast, there is a Denny's right next to the hotel and is within walking distance. I have no negatives to report regarding this La Quinta and will stay here anytime I travel to Texas City in the future!!!!

"Clean rooms, great value"

My mom and I stayed here last weekend. The room smelled a bit musty but that seems typical of motels especially with the humidity we have. The room and beds were clean and checkin was fast. There was a lightbulb missing in one of the fixtures and so was the coffee pot although the rest of the coffee maker was there but I never make coffee in my room and there were plenty of lights so we didn't care. The girl at the front desk was very friendly. Breakfast was nothing to write home about but it was your basic breads, waffles, boiled eggs, cereal etc. They have a Denny's practically on the property so if you wanted something a little warmer it is really convenient. I was a little concerned because the price was so low but thought I'd give it a try. I spent $60 more at the Fairfield Marriott a month prior and I thought this was just as nice. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone just looking for a clean place to stay.

"An o.k. place to stay the night"

The good: The price was right for 5 people in two rooms for 3 nights. It was far enough from the beach that there weren't too many spring breakers. In fact, it was one of the quietest La Quintas I've stayed in which is good considering it's closeness to the highways. Coffee maker in room with pretty good coffee. Super close to a Denny's for breakfast and they provided a decent breakfast in the motel lobby as well. Also, the beds are super comfortable! The bad: Small issue with cleanliness (hair left in the shower and not vacuumed well especially along the edges of the carpeting). Some of the local channels (ABC, etc) not working on the tv. I would stay here again if the price remains decent.
