"Day Laborer-Man Camp"

This room was booked off the La Quinta internet site. The photos depicted the property as a nice, well-kept accommodation. To our dismay, we arrived to find a run-down, ill kept foyer and pothole laden parking lot. The property is situated across the highway from numerous petroleum refineries. For approximately 10 minutes no one was at the front desk. Then we were greeted by the clerk who was very pleasant. We were directed to our room around the back of the property where we were met with numerous undesirables loitering in the parking lot and on the sidewalks. On the way to our room we passed several half-clothed men crouching around what appeared to be a hibachi barbecue pit. We made our way to the room. The door to the room appeared to have been forced open and was filthy. Upon entering our reserved "smoke-free" room, we were overcome by the stench of tobacco smoke. This is not the type of property that you would want to take your loved ones nor recommend to friends to stay. The property manager made arrangements for us to stay at a different La Quinta in Angleton. She indicated to us that the room would be "comped" and that we would not be charged. We contacted the property manager when we discovered that the charge was not removed from our credit card. We have made many attempts to contact La Quinta via telephone and e-mails. To date no one from the Angleton, Lake Jackson or Corporate La Quinta has contacted us. It is our intent for this review to be informative in hopes so no one else will be tricked into booking a rundown property that is falsely portrayed as quality accommodations as the photos show on the internet.

"Internet didn't work, other services poor"

We stayed two nights at this hotel. Teh internet never worked in the room or the lobby, even after I addressed the issue with the front desk. They ran out of breakfast food over the weekend and only had bread basically on monday morning. This hotel is pretty cheap, and you get what you pay for I guess, it's a low value, low quality hotel.

"Old but okay"

This place is old and it shows but not a bad place to stay because of it's location. Okay to sleep and shower here but not much parking available at night. Mostly oil field workers living here but price is right and you get what you pay for.

"Poor Hotel"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 19, 2014

First, I would start by making sure that the room is actually cleaned and just half way done. There was dirty, YES, I said DIRTY linens on the bed. This is very unsatisfactory. I honesty it looked like they used the old linens from the previous guest and just made the bed. There was blood on one of the pillow cases and a big yellow spot like someone urinated on beds. I went to the house keeping laundry area to get clean linens. The staff acted put out that I wanted clean linen. I had to go back a second time because they never brought me the confronter they said they would. All this took place while my mom was trying to the front desk that put her on hold. (P.S. the manager was in the back office not helping.) I brought beach towels for us to use at the beach; however, we used them to take our showers because we were afraid to use the towels after the bedding experience. The breakfast we picked up muffins to hit the road after such a bad experience at the hotel. They were soiled. They had gone bad and the hotel was still service. We have stayed at this hotel before a few years ago. Yes we did not receive as great of service as we did in Corpus Christi; however, it was no where as bad as this experience.
